Instead, you could try muting everyone at the start of the game, rebinding your Enter key with a keyboard app, moving the chat window off the screen or editing to config file to shrink your chat window down to nothing.
Stop typing? I'm not sure why you're asking Riot to do that for you. Just stop typing. It really is that easy.
