Apparently I was permabanned

So I was banned for three games, let me preface this with the note that it is out of about 400-500, 3 out of that... From this you can get no context but you can see that firstly I did not start talking I was responding, secondly I never started with profane comments EXCEPT you can't see that in context cause you only see what I say. I think that is ridiculous and skewed but I gotta say I don't understand the permaban, you can ban my chat but when you simply say things like ward and watch for ganks and people respond calling you terrible things or saying your family deserves cancer... Well I am not going to just keep rainbows and fairies. Also note that Game 3 was profane because the statement I started with in that one case was about what we were facing and a joke... Miss Fortune with Annie support is a very rough lane on one to farm or cs so it was a joke about it.

I really don't understand how it warrants a perma ban when you are provoked for offering tips. If someone is 4/10 on an adc for example maybe they need to know how to ward and watch for ganks, maybe kindly saying it should be okay without getting your head ripped off.... And when they start to blame you in a game you end up carrying and are 10/1/5 at the time it gets frustrating because you only wanted to help.

I gotta say if Riot cultivates a community where any suggestion in a game of competition is met with toxicity if it was stated from a place of kindness then that is a failure on their part with so much diversity in masteries, builds, and champions.

Also some games you have a flamer who wants to freak out on you because you play something non META in lane, immediately you are bad. I am not going to be called profane names by people who create summoner names such as "The Nig Nog" or "UncleBlackMan" (He was making Uncle Tom's Cabin jokes in the champ select screen) so maybe in that ONE game out of 400-500 I did begin tilted because those are ridiculous and uncalled for names, and yet I didn't say anything till I was a "f**king retard" for playing vayne in mid (to which I had first blood on anivia....)

The point is that this was a bit ridiculous, and you can claim whatever you like it is easy to draw some conclusion against someone when you only see what they said out of context... Also note that in these games namely 1 and 3 I got honored and teamwork commendations from the "community" which apparently found it so egregious so that should speak more to the fact I was provoked and it was warranted. Food for thought.

Did you get a 14 day ban before that? And chat restrictions before that?

I had chat restrictions, I don't recall the other unless it occured while I was already not playing, in any case I don't understand why you can't just have chat restricted and stick to pings, and I don't know why there is that assumption in the community when as you can see it begins with simply saying ward or something you should do... Also don't get why people say there were many and these were my last three when there were at least 50ish or more games between each of those... A 2% rate of toxicity should warrant some oversight and inclination that wait maybe people said something. Win or lose I usually say very little unless bot lane is ganked and I am the moron while ganking top as the jg and they have no wards at all...

You weren't banned for 3 games. You're banned for many, many games of being reported and refusing to change. They show you 3 of your recent chat logs as examples of inappropriate behavior.

Except, that's not how the punishment system actually works. You may want it to work like that, but it doesn't. It's against the rules to harass and argue with your teammates. When you establish a record of harassing your teammates, you get punished.

oh cool so it works in a lazy manner where context is not required and you can simply see one perception made to smear the person then talk down to them from your soapbox with no relevant claim as to why but that it just is. I also don't think "harassing" is correct terminology when they provoke you they ask for it, you can dance around whatever you like but you can't punch someone in the face and then cry assault when you get hit. End of story to that regard, and pampering people who die continually to 5v1s seems a moot point...

It's not lazy. It's mature. You're expected to treat people with respect. If someone starts raging at you, you're expected to mute them. If someone plays badly, you're expected to be understanding and stay positive. Those are the rules you agreed to when you logged in to play. You broke them, clear cut, and so you're banned now.

You're welcome to make another account. But if you continue to break the rules, your new account will eventually be banned too.

Nowhere is it ever suggested to you to mute people, and I really don't see how I broke them at all to be honest, I am glad but nowhere was I told to simply mute and say nothing. I am glad that works for you I don't think it should result in a ban when you are provoked even if you don't and that is the point of the post. Also I spent money on this not leveling another one and spending all the time, the fact you even can do that and suggest that is stupid, they should simply unban the current account then or better yet give some reasoning of connectivity. But nah let me spend hours leveling again to 30 as punishment, that in itself is a broken system... Glad you support it so wholeheartedly

Be Resolute, Not Indignant

If you end up in a game with an abusive player, don't lower yourself to their level. Instead, politely ask them to calm down.And remember, even if you're having a bad game, quitting or going AFK just ruins the game for the rest of the players. If someone's really starting to bother you, the mute and ignore commands are always there to resolve the situation.

nobody forced you to press enter and type back, or type at all.

100% ban is your fault.

if you had not typed anything, and ignored people like majority of people in the community do, you wouldnt be banned. its literally as simple as dont type anything other than what is needed (drag timer, summoners timer, mias, etc). what youre doing is not needed or acceptable, even if others are doing it worse.

"all in context" is irrelevant. When u made account u agreed to certain terms. One of those is that you wont be toxic/flaming/negative. For no reason. It doesnt matter if someone starts, u dont retaliate. You mute and report. Like you said "people have no right to be toxic to you". YOU ARE RIGHT. They dont. But you dont handle that here, Riot does. Only proper way is just to mute and report, thats it.

I think the disconnect here is that no one asked you to be their coach, especially during a match and more so when it's not ranked.

You would probably be more successful and less stressed if you focused more on the things you can control.

My disconnect there is I would not have said anything if I was not a bad jg because I didn't gank his gank when there were no wards to know, and still you don't get to see context... I didn't say anything first. for example the nidalee said she couldn't tell if she liked thunderlords, or deathfire more prior to my statement there.. Someone else told the gragas to ping when she was missing, so I told him to push etc... would be nice to have context because I have no desire to coach. Should be able to simply say ward, push your lane when she roams etc... without tilting people that should prevent it... if they want to respond with vulgar language it is on them.

While it is possible to get escalated from particularly bad behavior, most of the time your punishment is based solely on the number of times you have been punished before. The current punishment volcano is 5-game restriction >>> 25-game chat restriction >>> 14-day suspension >>> permaban.

If an expectation that you won't get spoken to like less than a human being when you offer not really a tip so much as how you play the game is salty then sure. I won't be called things and just set there idly by, and it shouldn't be okay. I got banned and was once just like you in season 5 then i changed and got better at the game. if you blame others for your own mistake and calling them out, youre just tilting them even more. just mute and focus on the game if you want to win the game.

and I know no one can lose you the game even two people can't always, its when they feel the need to begin tilted an blame you that is the issue. So you offer a tip like well ward and no you are just an (insert explicit phrase here) and bad so it's a bit mundane in the community..

Deserved in my opinion, you constantly called teammates out for mistakes, and cursed/insulted them repeatedly throughout the game.

You were not a fun player to play with. Try to read your chat objectively and think, "Would I want me as a teammate if I was them?"

Oh I would want me as a team mate if I am dying to not warding and frustrated/tilting because I am dying then I want to learn... I am not sure how learned the game I learned via skype being told those very things. I think there is objectivity in that given the post in general. I am glad you feel it was "deserved" though
