Hi guys i just want to ask a few questions in regards to a recent 14 day suspension i got. I am not here to have the knights of Camelot tear me a new one i know what i said in game chat was wrong and dont even intend on using game chat in the future i dont tend to tilt or rage very often but after having a horrific day i just couldn't stop myself it was my first ever ban no chat restriction prior to this and again i dont need people telling me what i said was out of line i fine well know that. I just want to know when i go back i have a three month period where i need to be on my best behaviour to come down a punishment tier but i also want to know what is the case with false reports like what if i play bad and my team reports me or the other team reports me just to be nasty and lets be honest people do this i just want to know if i literally dont say anything in game chat besides maybe a gj or a wp ect will i be absolutely fine to play or can these trolling reporters till somehow get me perma banned i really can afford to get permabanned considering how much i spent on this game. Thanks

If you don't do or say anything that is worthy of a punishment you will not be punished. I'd caution away from using "gj" at sarcastic moments like when teammates die (the system might notice that), but if you don't communicate and/or your communication is limited to gj, wp, and gg you'll be 100% fine.

Thanks for the reply of course will only be using chat at proper moments not sarcastically or in rage i have saw a few of the guys on these forms saying that when they go back from a reform they get banned for not saying anything and when they try to re appeal it riot just refer them to the past which i dont know how true this actually is because i would assume if you come back from a ban and truly are reformed then why would they refer you to things you said before the ban or on the occurrence of the ban. so like what if i have a bad game and the system just auto permas or is this not possible? Thanks again for the quick reply

I'd be interested in seeing these cases if they exist -- I don't believe I have seen punishments for nothing at any point, save a very rare few (because any system this large that were overturned pretty swiftly.

Your account is on VERY thin ice, and will be for several months. If you have a game of just bad gameplay you'll be fine. If you have a game of bad CHAT behavior you may end up permanently banned.

Ah i see so like the two are on a separate category so if i just lets say avoid all game chat for the next few months excluding the odd gg at the end of the game i should be fine because i never afk or int anyway normally if i die a lot its just because i am bad :) not that it is intentional. So i should be fine i might just avoid chat as it is what got me in this situation in the first place not worth losing a couple of hundred £ because of stupid arguments

Not a bad idea. Personally I'd keep a few phrases in your back pocket. Objective and/or positive only -- things like this:

  • "[lane] is pushing. May be gankable."
  • "gg"
  • "nj"
  • "wp"
  • "We can take [objective] now."
  • "Can someone ward [location]?"
  • etc.

Don't get into fights, don't throw insults, don't comment on people's scores (save for maybe "he's 4/0 -- none of us can really solo him"), etc. You should be fine.

Another tip is to set a personal goal every game that ISN'T "win." That way even if your team is flaming, trolling, inting, or just doing badly you can still work on improving your own play. It makes losing MUCH more tolerable. :)

Absolutely keep the chat to an absolute minimum and im turning all chat off it has 0 benefit to myself. i appreciate the reply's and will we definitely doing this going forward put way too much hours into the game to lose it over something like a silly argument.

Most people who say that don't think mild toxicity is still toxicity. So their account is on thin ice since their 14-day ban, they do mild toxicity and BAM, they get banned.

nobody knows that you have a 14 day ban unless you say it yourself in chat. as long as you treat people as you would your [insert person you look up to that you can never get angry at no matter what], you'll be fine

False reports do nothing. Literally. Unless the system detects that you were intentionally feeding (riot can check this by cross referencing your old click points and movements to the ones from this game) or that you were cheating. If you start griefing (I.E. taking another team mate's farm solely for the purpose of putting them behind) then that's a different story, but most people don't report for that. If you ACTUALLY don't use the chat for any reason (I've told myself that and lied my ass off doing it) then you'll be fine. The system won't detect you flaming or being negative, so any reports will be unjustified.

Actually, there are written rules about who should be taking last hits on minions to earn CS. It is not griefing if you're in a lane and the BOT player is incapable of landing last hits so a support takes what could be lost or just simply takes over. A support can actually carry very well throughout a match, especially in lower-mmr matches. If you report that as greifing when a player is constantly playing and working towards a win to the last moment it doesn't fall under the griefing sub-text. it's more unsportsmanlike and RIOT really changed the way reporting unsportsmanlike behavior is identified and looked at. Granted I'd be angry in that case, but I also know how to last hit so it doesn't happen too much here [slayer-jinx-wink] .
