Accidental Ban?
I was banned just yesterday morning about 9am local time. I was absolutely horrified. It said for, " malicious thirdparty software or malicious modifications". There was a possible of maybe three reasons (or a combination) that I thought that I could've banned,
-
the use of Haste, a VPN-esque program that reduces jitter, lag, and ping
-
the what I'd call amazing support games just the night before, going 2/7/25 as Taric and using my ult to counter a load of Zed ults and forcing him to be near useless and going 1/4/32 the game before that as Karma, getting my ADC Lucian fed and hitting about 80-90% of my Q's (I might be exaggerating but I was pretty darn on point with that Karma game).
-
I just came down from a 9 win game winstreak playing Riven (yes, the very dirty Riven) 7 games of that and the other two as Lulu and Morgana support (both of which were on point games for me)
So, this brings me to ask, what was I banned for? And how do I prove my innocence? I have never used a single script or bot in my life and have never cheated in League of Legends, EVER. It was to my knowledge that Haste was an approved networking program by the testimonies given by phylol and SoloRenektonOnly on their YouTube and Twitch channels and that it wasn't considered anything illegal simply because it acted as a VPN.
And this came to mind, what if it was because of the retirement of the old client and that the new client recognized VPNs as something third party and just autobanned me? I saw nowhere in the Terms of Use that VPNs weren't allowed so I thought that just maybe this could be the reason why. I'm a networking and cybersecurity major and investigated into this theory and found it plausible to have occurred, my support ticket case is still open and I am awaiting a response, is there any advice for how to handle this? I have played since Season 4 and fell in love with this game ever since, any advice or suggestions is immensely appreciated.
