Ok Riot. We need to have a serious discussion.

Alright. I've just about had it. This bs has gone on too long and needs to be fixed. Ranked, simply put, is broken. This stems from the fact that even if a team member AFK's, you still take a load of LP, MMR, or even tiers. I understand though that you don't want to let the team off the hook either as it may cause people to lose for the rest of the team which is why I have a solution and a compromise for both players and developers.

For the team that wins the game, no change is given. The team gains as much LP and MMR as it would normally.

For the losing team that did not AFK, only half the MMR and LP is lost. Furthermore, if you have an AFK in a series, the game does not count. A 3 game series ruined with one afk is very annoying. You need to accumulate LP again and do another 3 games to even have a shot at the next tier.

If you are the player of AFK'd, you first would receive a warning. You would be informed that your AFK ruins he's and as such should stop. You would be forced to type that you accept responsibility if you AFK and even computer problems would result in punishments. If you AFK a second time and more and more, a Ranked ban would be placed on you. Similar to Leavebuster. You would be required to do a certain amount of SR games in order to enter ranked again. If you continue to ask in ranked, games would required games would increase

If you AFK'd but came back, you have a chance to not be punished. Winning the game would automatically protect you from punishments. You made up for your mistakes and stayed in the game. Losing though, is difficult.

If you AFK, come back, but lose, the time you came back would be taken into account. Upon coming back, a tree minute clock is placed on you. If you lose within that time, you will be punished. If you can hold on for the time, but then lose, you are safe. You would obviously have a 3 minute grace period to come back without this time as well.

Although very complicated, this is the only way ranked is going to be playable. I'm open for debate, but please remember to keep it civil.
