Being "stuck" in a game

Earlier today, I played my first actual game of Hecarim. It went... poorly. I did horrendous, and wasn't able to help anyone, and we're quite obviously in a bad spot, and the volibear is being a jerk (understatement) (also i should have muted them). I deserved some of it sure, but I play this game to have fun, and this particular (normals, btw) game wasn't fun. I couldn't get a surrender vote to pass, but it wasn't like we could really win. I felt stuck in this game, and I wasn't having fun, I was actually having a really bad time, even with having a friend in the game.

So what should one do when you're 0/10, and your team won't surrender (also I'll note that it's very possible for one team member to be doing very poorly but the game is very winnable for that side), and you just feel stuck, and going through the motions at best because you can't influence anything? I mean more in terms of not tilting or hating it, and less in terms of "well, if you're 0/10 go do X to contribute", while that could be a helpful suggestion. This situation is actually why I prefer to have 3 or 4 friends in the game, to be able to force the surrender vote.

tl;dr what do you do when you've royally sucked, can't accomplish anything in the game, and can't get a surrender vote, so that you don't want to claw your eyes out?

edit: basically: if im tilted after a game, i go do something else. what do i do while im still in the game?

Set smaller goals for yourself. Obviously, a large goal in any game is to win, and also play well. If you're not playing well, start focusing on small steps to maybe help you recover. Get some wards out that'll let you safely farm. Perhaps try to freeze a lane near your base so you can farm for a while. If you're not great at freezing a lane, it's the perfect chance to start working on it.

With something like Hecarim, when you're that far behind, you're probably pretty fragile still and wouldn't survive as a tank or really even be able to put out much damage at all. But you've always got the utility of your ult and a knock-back. You could focus on at least making sure to get those two things out on priority targets before you die if you're needed as a main initiator. If you aren't needed to initiate for the team, it'll be a bit easier. You may have to just wait a bit to find the right moment to run in and use those abilities on priority targets (and probably still die). Or, you could just focus on using that CC to peel for your carry, rather than charging in to initiate things.

So if the team refuses to surrender, do them a favor and don't give up completely yourself. Try to farm up, and if team fights happen, just contribute what you can.
