14 day ban with no warning?

Is this normal? I got 14 day banned with no previous offences. No warnings , nothing. Told some dude to "kys" after he told me the exact same thing...didn't think anything of it. Didn't even report the guy. Why is riot so sensitive? Also I still haven't gotten an email with the chat logs.

Because saying something like that has no place in this game, not to mention the fact that someone might actually do it.

Even if the person did deserve to be told it, it still creates a negative atmosphere for the other players. You might not care about stuff like that but some people do find it offensive and off putting. People have the right to play this game without personally being subjected to stuff like that or feeling they are in an abusive or toxic environment.

I have people say toxic stuff to me frequently, I don't say toxic stuff back, I just say "muted and reported". That always works.

why do you need a warning not to be toxic?

you warning is the TOS you agree to when you started your account and after every patch that you re-agree to by clicking accept on that notice that pops up after the update before you signed in

Extremely negative behaviour or hate speech can result in skipping chat restrictions and going straight into bans.

"Kys" is treated quite harshly. You never know who you're talking to online, and some people in compromised mental states turning to video games for comfort can be pushed to the edge by provocation like that.

That said, I don't think I've ever seen a singular "kys" result in an immediate 14-day. Any chance you got full chat logs for us to see?
