I was playing in a ranked game 2 days ago, as support. We lost our lane and ofcourse the adc wished cancer to my family (i honestly dont care if i or he was playing bad, propably both but whatever). I instantly afked and told in all chat what hapenned but noone was annoyed by this.They didnt even care. I told him that he knows nothing about real life and he continued to be toxic.At the end of the game i said that i lost my father from cancer and at least he said a (ok,im sorry). What drove me grazy hapenned at the end game lobby chat, when my teamate mid laner told me to wait and not leave the chat room and then wrote that my father was a noob. (Wow he is really funny i guess). I reported them both and i see that they are still playing. I guess this is not something riot thinks is bannable.

It takes a very serious offense to get banned off the events of a single game. Yes, what those players did was very inappropriate and rude, but it's not something that's severe enough to warrant such a punishment by the automated system. If those players make such antics a habit, then they'll be on the fast lane to a punishment verdict due to the sheer amount of reports that behavior will rack up, but if it's an isolated incident or very infrequent then there's little chance something like that will result in a punishment.

I think that someone who says cancer to your family in 10 minutes of play for a 0-3-0 stat, is propably done it before and will do it again. I am just making a logic thought, dont you agree? Anyway, if players can just say things like this and get away with punnishment because its "1 game" then i dont agree with riot. I dont mind a "f u" or something like that, but wishing cancer? wtf

Not that much, just like they don't know anything about you. You don't know anything about them. We can agree to this much right? You don't know if their fiance was just fucking with another guy as he opened the room causing him to be pissed as the world and playing this game flaming everyone. You don't know if she just got raped yesterday and now its trying to fight that trauma by playing games. And when she feels betrayed again she starts cursing everyone. Fuck it, you don't even know if its a guy or a girl that flamed you.

The examples above are exaggerated on purpose, but they can be real. What I'm trying to tell you is that real life events influence our behavior. For the good or for the worse. The above examples were just for the worse. There are cases when lets say, your mama and papa just bought you this cool car. Or your crush just confessed to you. Or you passed that hard hard exam. Now you will be happy. And as such, be happy in game too, even if someone feeds the enemy. Sure you won't be happy that they feed, but you are so happy thx to the outside factor that happened in your life, that the game idiots don't matter. And if the team you got has team work and chat and flirt with you. You will be even happier. Just like happy events can occur. Sad or bad events also have a chance of occurring.

That's why, its highly probable for someone to go insanely aggressive in a game or two. Tbh, me being oversensitive at stuff regarding my own self, I over react at times. Even something as little as a 5 games losing streak is enough to piss me off to the point I'm blaming or being passive aggressive in game. I might not wish cancer to people (not like it would really happen). But I called other players useless a bunch of times. Pointing out their mistakes and so on. Normally I don't do the above, but at times I get triggered and need to vent out. Since I'm doing that like 3 out of 10 games. I have yet to receive a single restriction.

So, the point of this wall is: just because someone flamed the shit out of you today, doesn't mean that they do it on regular basis.

PS: just checked the guy that flamed me for 10 minutes continuously in ranked while I only died ONCE that entire game. He still plays, nothing I can do about it. Oh, but i play on euw tho. Maybe our "community" is slightly better

There is a line to cross as to what you can say. I say again that i dont mind a fu , i myself loose control sometimes. But wishing cancer is over the line and i dont care the state mind you are in that time. You must be punished, thats all. And i think that the guy who made a joke about my father after i told them he was dead, is unexcusable.

Each human is different, we all receive different education, had a different environment, had different experiences and have different type of common sense.

You think the line to cross is there. The other persons might think its somewhere else. Apparently riot set "the line" a bit further down, so that even if you cross it once in a while, you won't get burned.

Another example. When the tsunami hit japan a few years ago. I found the jokes around it pretty funny. But for many people that was a line not to cross. Its different, that line is different for most of us. Its great if you can find someone that thinks likewise you, but please don't expect that to happen often. And I know it doesn't seem fair, that the system is on their side right now too. Tbh, I won't be happy if I snap once and make a 10 lines death curse chant on someone in game to get my account banned. If it only happens once in like 1000 games, I think its fine (and the system currently favors this).

My advice is to find better friends with similar common sense and try to play with them to avoid ragers

Judging someone's tendencies off the events of a single game isn't a very accurate representation of them, I've seen some very nice people snap and say some extremely ill-mannered stuff in a small handful of games, so that thought process isn't entirely accurate. And it's not players getting away with stuff because it's '1 game', they're getting negative marks on their record that will influence future reports against them and can even advance the severity of their punishment, so it's hardly getting away with it for free.

If the players aren't punished for frequent toxic behavior it simply means that most people who play with them don't actually report their behavior, and considering it's an automated system you can't exactly expect it to know when it's alright to administer a punishment to a player with a low amount of reports even if they are a toxic influence. Then there's the problem of you expecting a suspension or ban for what is a verbal offense, those are usually met with chat restrictions first, so it's entirely possible those players have been punished already and you'd have no way of checking outside of going into a game with them and seeing how often they say anything.

But honestly, at the end of the day, being hit with a cancer quip is pretty standard fare as far as online insults go, it's not something I'm fine with but it's also not something that's particularly offensive enough to warrant immediate action, such as hate speech. I sympathize that you're a victim of a cancer related incident, but you shouldn't blow off quips like 'f u' as easily while making a vendetta against a cancer quip, I'm friends with a rape victim and they react extremely negatively with insults of that nature and would rate such things as being synonymous with death threats.

In the end insults are all reliant on their recipients' point of view to determine how severe they actually are, and players who frequently display toxic behavior don't go very long without getting punished with the automated system (Our community is fairly trigger happy when it comes to reports in the first place, so being legitimately toxic tends to get you noticed posthaste).

My question is, why did you go afk? And then procceded to spam the chat with useless flame? Ofc no one cared everyone found you annoying and probably reported you, i know i would because it annoys the hell out of me when enemy teams flame eachother/ask for reports etc in all chat, like please f**k off, keep it in team chat.

I hate to say it but... while you have my condolences for your father. Cancer sucks. ... you still shouldn't have afk'd.

You need to be bigger than them. Tell them that before postgame. If they still didn't believe you and kept on and trolled even further... I don't know. Maybe I wouldn't blame an afk.

I'm imagining it was a Fizz or Volibear. Those tend to be played by the worst people.
