Mastery spam, laughing/ taunts etc.

I've been playing league for a fair amount of time: enough to understand a majority of its concepts. I play League almost solely because my friends do because that seems to be the only positive thing that occurs. Its almost like Riot promotes toxic behavior in the community ie. making it where Vlad will laugh when he pools or when singed flips an opponent. Well if that is not convincing enough think about the idea of mastery spam, laugh spam, taunt etc.... Is it an attempt to add individuality to champions? I believe it is but that won't stop people from "abusing" emotes in order to tilt others. Everyone who has played League for any substantial amount of time has come across the Blitz who spams laugh when you make any mistake in lane or the Nunu who consumes your entire jungle and spams laugh in your face. I believe this is easily fix of course: either make it so when you mute the player you mute the champion as well or you could assign a cost to emote ie. every time you laugh it cost 20 mana or other resources so that people can use it but it gives them an incentive to do it less.

I don't really see it that much. I will say that when I am playing Thresh and I miss an obvious hook, I'll do that mastery emote once. But that's just my experience.

I like situations such as this where you can use it to make a little crack at yourself, but it seems to be more exploited for its negative uses rather than this sort of thing (in my experience).

That's fair. I don't see a lot of the emote spamming, but that's just my experience. I think the more annoying thing is when people spam the Lulu laugh non stop.

I report laugh spam if you are deliberately trying to piss me off with it, yea.

But I feel like they would never get punished for it solely because its a mechanic place in the game by Riot so that means that they intended for it to be used that way.

Trolling is trolling.

Someone trying to put you on tilt by using an emote laugh is a pretty weak reason to report them imo but whatever floats your boat EDM!

The way it is intended to be interpreted feels very much like unsportsmanlike conduct or negative attitude.

im that person that spams all 3 when im winning lane LOL

If you want tilt someone even more, use your mastery after getting a kill on your lane opponent

And that's fine I understand why you "bm" but I want to be able to not see you laughing in my face. If I can mute players why can't i mute your champ too.

have you considered maybe you are super oversensitive?

riot gave us in game taunts, laughs, mastery icons, with the assumption that we would use them. i have no idea why that hurts your feelings so much. EVERY champion has one. use yours. laugh at them every time they die! spam your mastery icon when u hit a single cs! i don't care. it's a video game.

if it really bothers you THAT MUCH muting them will get rid of their laughs and taunts

not sure about mastery icon noise

First of all you're wrong. Muting the player doesn't mute the champ. Second of all, the last thing I want to hear after a long day of ranked is lulu's laugh after she didn't even get an assist on my death. Saying that I'm over sensitive seem a bit presumptuous seeing as these features will do nothing positive for the friendliness of the game. And you are right it is a video game but video games are meant to be fun. Laugh has the same intention as any negative thing said in all chat.

making your opponents tilt is part of the game, killing them a bunch in game accomplishes the same thing, do you want someone who camps you constantly to be lessened in the game too?

PaltrySun2 votes

Making them tilt because you are 20 and 3 is different than ctrl6 every time they miss a cs. I just feel like emotes need to be curbed a bit thats all.

If you /lol at twice, you're taunting me. But that's allowable.

If you /lol at me fifteen times in the space of twenty seconds, that's spam. Spamming isn't allowed.

Besides, if you emote all the time, that's less time you have your hands in position to react to attacks. If you're killed while /lol'ing, I doubt you are the one laughing.

Honestly most people who consistently emote have different bindings and I will admit that too have "spammed" laugh before but its clear to me that /l or ctrl6 isn't beneficial to the community as a whole.

I love doing this, but its in all fun. I'll /all chat "laugh with me" and ill stand in lane (far enough away, of course) and just press v (my laugh button) over and over, and often times they join in.

If someone im laning against misses a skill shot (say a thresh or something) then ill press laugh once. If I make a cool play, i'll press mastery emote. When i die, i'll press it when I'm dead, more so in an ironic sort of way, like "haaaaaa, i died :( mastery emote"

But also a lot of times i forget that its even there anymore. Meh. Laugh is more my thing, especially if its an annoying laugh (lux, teemo, lulu, etc) It really does make your enemies salty x) Like I'll have 3 enemies come target kill me, and i'll get all chatted "yeah, where's your mastery emote now?" and i just laugh about it.

I once was against a vayne as janna, very hilarious match up. She couldn't kill me nor my adc how ever many times she tried, and I was often q'ing her out of her tumble, I do believe she tilted quite a bit that game, I asked her if she found my janna annoying and she just responded toxicly and reported me after game, hah.

And that's fine do what you want but why does anyone have to listen to it if they decide it gets on their nerves?
