Revised Ban System (Idea)

Upcoming Upgrades to Chat Restrictions

I was recently permanently banned for exhibiting toxic behaviour. I agree that punishment is required for toxic players, however, I feel the current ban system is flawed. In my opinion, going from a 2-week ban to a permanent suspension is too short of a time for a player to be fully reformed. I realize that players are given 10 and 25 game chat restrictions before hand, but in my case they didn't really help to change my attitude towards the game. Once I received a 2-week suspension, I realized I needed to change my in-game behaviour. However, I was not able to completely change the way I handled my frustration towards my teammates. I would start by being nice to my teammates, but after I had afk teammates and people saying "ff20" I took out my frustration on them. My proposal of a new ban system is this: Keep the 10 and 25 game chat restrictions (although I think it is the least effective method to change a player's attitude), but add a couple more intervals to the suspensions. In my opinion, player's should first receive a 3 day ban, then a 1 week>2 week>1 month>6 months>1 year. If after 1 year, the player is still showing that they are toxic, permanently suspend them. Even if a year seems too long before a permanent suspension, make the limit 6 months. I feel that Riot is operating their ban system the same as the US prison system (little bit of an exaggeration, but still relevant). They are taking away player's accounts that have been playing since the beta for displaying toxicity for a short amount of time, instead of giving them a couple more opportunities to prove that they can be reformed. All these accounts are ending up in an account graveyard, when in reality I feel that most people would end up changing their in-game behaviour if they were given a longer time period to adjust. Riot, players like myself have been supporting you for a long time, maybe you could return the favour.

TLDR; In my opinion, Riot should extend the intervals of suspensions to 3 day>1 week>2 weeks>1 month>6 months>1 year (optional)>Permanent

Increased number of punishments doesn't affect whether or not people reform or continue to be toxic. They'll either see that their actions aren't welcome after the 2 week ban or they won't. That's why there's only one step more. Drawing it out only hurts the community.

The system works for 99.95% of the people.

That just seems too generous. I think the way it works now is great.it is not Ruots fault that you didn't see your problem during your first two punishment. That if anything is where most people see that they are messing up. You were already on thin ice with the two week ban (you should have dealt with it while you were ban) but you didn't and because of that the system assumes you toxic since it shows a consistency that you were toxic.

Like I said maybe next time you will take the first two punishment seriously next time because it's pretty childish to think "eh it's just chat restrictions so it's no big deal" when it is. Learn from this and don't make the same mistake!

Its called...

/Mute all

Report the players you feel are trolling without soliciting reports since Riot punishes this too asking others to report

Go about the game...

Some Examples . Report the jungler who Intentionally throws off your lane when you are 0/0 and then he comes in and griefs you making it go wrong . Report the ping spammers . Report the people who use pings (Invalid) . Report the other players who start argument.

Just typing /mute all saves a lot of arguing and leads to less punishments, Encountered a huge number of toxic players arguing in Over Watch earlier did the same thing over there turned off chat told them (If you want me to play a specific way) then you are going to have to do this, I am not going to argue with you I will mute everyone, they kept throwing out garbage over the mic I turned off voice and text went about the game and just lost it whatever.

Have to do the same in any MOBA when you encounter such players, but then a couple of hours later got like 7 games in a row without toxic players in Over Watch?

If you are banned for 6 months, you would just make a new account and be toxic there. While I do know that you can make a new account, even if permabanned, the 6 month ban wouldnt do much in all honesty. I think that two weeks is more than enough time to realize your mistakes.
