The irony is too strong.

In 2009 I remember watching the South Park movie, specifically one line stands out stated by Kyle's mom,

"Men, when you're out there in the battlefield ... and you're looking into the beady eyes of a Canadian ... as he charges you with his hokey stick, or whatever he has ... and people are dyeing all around you ... just remember what the M.P.A.A. says: Horrific, deplorable violence is okay, as long as people don't say any naughty words! That is what this war is all about.

I can remember laughing at the irony then and how the same principle is being applied to this game, and again I find it laughable.

If you can't play without creating a hostile environment for other people, feel free to leave.

There is violence in League of Legends, but I think it's a stretch to consider it "horrific" and "deplorable."

Also, occasional bad words are generally acceptable in League. What's not OK is to direct those words at someone in a derogatory way, or to use slurs or epithets that are considered widely offensive for reasons beyond merely being a naughty word.

I was going to link in the Strawman Argument from Fallacy Ref, but my boards fu isn't strong enough to make it a picture. Oh well.

My point is that this is a faulty argument from the beginning. Just because the game is about violence - and, let's be honest, it's pretty weak, cartoony violence - doesn't somehow lead to the notion that it's okay for the players to be jerks to one another. I think you might be confusing League with one of those ridiculous "wrestling" shows.

Yes, I can read Game of Thrones without getting in a 'tizzy'. Though, The Barrow by Mark Symsomething did go a little too far for my taste. If you are strictly talking about rating and not chat reform, yes, American censorship is fucked up.

Extreme out of context satire. They were referring to the rating of the movie, not the sensitivity of people today. I can stand harsh words. Throwing them at me while I'm trying to recover from a bad game, however, really curdles my milk.
