My account was permanently banned with no previous restrictions/bans

Hey everyone,

So I'd just like an explanation on why my account was permanently banned within 24 hours of two games being played when there had been no previous restrictions/bans in the recent past? I honestly can't remember if I've ever received punishment before and was wondering if League was really this strict.

First off I'll admit the games I'm being punished for I was toxic. I fully admit what I said was rude, and mean. But what happened was I played poorly in the early game and I got flamed for it, and instead of being reasonable I flamed back. I know this isn't the right attitude at all and I should've just taken a breather, but I just got really tilted when one or two members on my team started telling me how useless I was.

I'm really sorry for what happened honestly, and out of hundreds of games these have been the only 2 I really flamed people in.

For reference this was generally one of the more terrible things I typed:

Is that your entire chatlog that was given to you? And are you sure you've never been hit by a punishment in the past couple of months?

I find it unusual that you're brought straight to perma-ban status in one punishment for poor behavior. Even the worst behavior only sends a person to a 14-day ban on the first punishment.

You remember not getting punished in the past 4 months. However you can't remember if you were banned 5 months ago?

It's obvious you're hiding a previous 14 day ban. You have enough 14 day+ breaks in your match history so at this point I am already convinced your lying and you were banned in the past.

Every single person working at Riot will see you were banned. Tricking us into believing you weren't banned won't accomplish anything at all, since we're just part of the community like you are.

What's your plan here? lol.

You're essentially giving us two options.

  1. For some unexplainable reason the system completely failed
  2. You, an incredibly toxic person, banned for toxicity, are lying aboutyour toxic past and previous punishment.

What do YOU think is more likely?

I'm not hiding any punishments dude, I'm just honestly posting because I love this game and don't want my account to be permabanned because of 2 games so I'm just asking for clarification. Like what would I have to gain from lying on a forum to strangers, I posted my entire chat log as well, if you look through the forum at my responses I feel like what I'm saying is reasonable, and if it isn't then I hope you guys would tell me lmao.

The point of me posting is to ask for clarification about my ban, get advice on it, and find out the best ways to change my behaviour. Like I'm really not trying to lie to people online.

I just don't want to lie through ignorance because I forgot, like, I honestly can't remember if my account was punished like, 5 months ago or not, because I don't have a great memory for that, so I'm just covering my bases in case a Riot employee does see this and is like, "you're toxic AND you're a liar, nice" when I just forgot. Like I said I'm pretty certain I've never received a ban before

It's obviously not just two games. The ban takes into account every other game you've been reported for, every game that got you your 14 day ban and every game that got you chat restricted the first and the second time

Do you get emails for when you get banned? Just checked my email history and there is nothing about being banned or restricted previously

If you want feedback on your punishment, please post a screen shot of your reform card if the chatlog is short enough or copy and paste an unedited chatlog from your card.

However, just from the few lines you did post, zero tolerance policies will escalate punishments to a minimum of 14 day bans. If your chat is so bad that if it were humanly possible for eyeballs to vomit the light that just entered it from reading such abhorrent and toxic text, my eyes would reject the light that just went into it... it will get escalated to a permaban.

You're dodging the question by continuing to try and redefine my question in a way you want to answer it so that you seem like you have a clean slate, but in fact you do not.

You have said that you have not received a chat restriction in months and continue to focus on recent punishments. This makes you seem like you're trying to deceive the forums and will probably land you with negative comments. Just be up front and honest with the forums because it really doesn't help you to try trick people into believing a specific narrative.

Tantram is infamous for coming down and smiting people who tell half truths by omission and and also smiting flat out lies.

This is what I mean by dodging questions. I asked:

I tried to ask in two different ways to get a truthful and honest answer. I asked for your ACTUAL punishment history and then asked again if you EVER had any chat restrictions and temp bans. You replied:

I had never received a 14 day ban before, and to my knowledge nor have I received a chat restriction in months.

The initial question had no time restriction and you answered partially "I never received a 14 day ban before" which answered half the question as asked, and then you re-framed the answer to be what you wanted to answer, which is "nor have I received a chat restriction in months" which is not answered in the way that answers the question asked.

Based on your constant restriction of "recently" or within "months" that you refuse to answer, the only conclusion I can come to is that you have received chat restrictions in the past and you just do not want to disclose them because you feel they may prejudice you by coloring your reputation in a negative light.

I truly appreciate you guys for looking over this. Honestly these were some bad games on a bad day. Like I said earlier showing people this is really hard, even anonymously, because it's pretty embarrassing. Other than these games though I keep a cooler head, even at the beginning of the first game I was talking to Panth about a challenger video on the character he was playing. I usually try to be friendly or say nothing at all, or maybe ask for a ward in my jungle haha. The second game I literally have no excuse though, Nami was flaming me pretty hard but only after I flamed aurelion for not ulting.

If you are typing something that is insulting, angry, vindictive, spiteful, hateful, bitter, sarcastic, passive aggressive, bigoted, sexist, homophobic, racist, or anything else that could be considered negative.... don't hit enter.

I get why you were frustrated, but this line here, you insulted your team. Whether or not they did or did not suck is irrelevant. It sucks getting flamed. I completely empathize with you in that being the target of flames really fucking sucks. But, there are better ways to handle it. This isn't the worst offense but it is an offense. You should avoid pointing fingers because all it does is make your teammates defensive and defensiveness is always a breeding ground for toxicity.

Oooff.... calling people any sort of primate could be viewed as racism as many people call dark skinned people monkeys as a derogatory term. Even if you meant that as like an insult to how they are primal they are reacting rather than using thought and analysis in reacting, just even going near that territory is risky. If you said "fucking idiot" instead of ape, I would have just called this an insult but because of how close it could be to a racist slur, it may have been perceived as a racial slur. I would take this insult out of your lexicon and replace it with something less similar to a racial slur.

Now this is just insulting and angry. I get where you're coming from but there are better ways to handle it. You tried a little further down but also in a really bad way.... I would have addressed the fact that your box has setup time, which is actually 2 seconds so it's not really short here. It's not always easy to land the fear. You have to anticipate where they go and also hope that they don't have any movement abilities or summoners up when you drop the box.

You were pretty damn negative and also angry and flamey in this game... This was really bad IMO. Based on other chats that have read, if I were to give this a toxicity rating of 0 to 10, I would probably give this like a 8 or so... It's really bad. You need to work on how to how you handle confrontation because there were so many opportunities for you to deescalate but you escalated the situation.

This second game was like 99% flames and insults... I don't even know what to tell you because you started off bad and you ended bad. There was literally no line I could point to between the start an the end that could redeem this chat in the second game. Although it wasn't as bad as the first game (mainly because you didn't use any slurs here), it's still bad.

If you have had a long history of punishments (regardless of whether or not they were recent) this might be an escalated permaban due to your history instead of getting a 14 day temp ban.

I think you should actually take the time and read what you've said line by line. You exceed +20 insults towards people, why the hell do you think you got banned? There's no warning needed for something this unbearably extreme.

Did you play those two games directly after each other? And more importantly: Did you already use zero tolerance phrases in the first of the two games you played?

What I've seen happen before is that people, due to IFS needing a bit of time to dish out punishment, manage to get into another game before their 14 day ban. This game is then already considered to be played "after" the 14-day ban, and thus these people wereon very thin ice. Thus, when they misbehaved in that game, despite not even knowing about their previous punishment, they were then hit with a permaban.

This is not intended behaviour, and I actually thought they had it fixed. These people had the permaban reduced back to a 14-day ban after writing a ticket (and sometimes after opening a thread), so if this might be what happened to you, I recommend writing a ticket. To clear this up I also recommend checking your emails to see whether you actually got two emails regarding punishment; one of which would then probably be for a 14-day ban.
