Tribunal When?

The Tribunal - Maintenance

Look, it's cool and all that Champs and skins come out super often, but when is the Tribunal coming? We've seriously been waiting on this thing for years. It's like one of the most important parts of the game, you know in order to fix the toxic community, yet it's always neglected for more champs which we don't need. A couple things that could be included with the tribunal is fixing the reporting system. There have been too many times where someone picks a role that they don't want and ask for a different role or they feed. Even if we dodge the game to avoid this toxic player, we can't report them. We could only block them if we so happen to know their name and spelling. Let us report the player outside of game. Include the recent lobby into the recent players tab without actually having to play the game (in case of dodge). That way we would just be able to click on the toxic player's name and report them with reason. Please riot, fix the tribunal system. It's one of the most important systems in the game and it's still down.

Putting people in charge of punishments is not a good thing. Ever saw the jailor-prisoner experiment?

Also the backlog issue.

As well as human-bias due to extraneous factors such as just how their day went/amount of sleep/etc.

To your first comment, not true at all. Ever play CS:GO? They have a system where once you reach a certain rank you can start participating in something called "Overwatch" where you look at the evidence and then give your verdict on the situation. If you ever played that game, you would know how clean the community is compared to League of Legends. All I'm saying is bring back the tribunal to do the same situation.

To your second comment, you'd rather have people not be able to ban a toxic player at all but just block them if you so happen to know the name of said person? That makes no sense. Sure the human-bias factor counts but as I said previously, that report would be sent to the tribunal for evaluation along with the chat log. If there's nothing to go by, then of course the player will not be banned.

Here's a link of an CS:GO "Overwatch" evaluation to demonstrate how it works. Here

Have you seen the jailor-prisoner experiment? Go look it up.

No, regular players should not be able to. That is what mute/report is for. Banning should be handled by the automated system with only manual permas and overturn requests handled by actual staff.

Also, you fail to understand what I meant. A report sends it to Tribunal. Whoever reviews it is subject to their own problems in their life as well, all of which can influence it. Some people intentionally troll (wrong judgments intentionally/all ban/all not guilty/etc), some people use it to take out their anger, others aren't serious, and in the specific type of cases I mentioned, just having as minor as a cranky day leads to them making a harsher punishment the vast majority of the time.

ChocoNanaKens2 votes

Yes, I have seen the jailor-prisoner experiment. This is nothing like that, people don't feel like they have power when they are just going through evidence to ban someone. I've done it before.

No, the community should have a say in it. An automated system can't combat all problems. Plus, the actual staff cannot work on all reports coming in everyday. So again, the community needs to be involved.

Dude, you're trying to make it seem like someone who is having a bad day would automatic ban a person through the tribunal. That is nonsense. Like I said, you have to reach a certain rank in order to be part of the tribunal, let's say diamond or gold. So by the time people are that invested in the game to reach that rank, you know for certain that they actually care about the game and wouldn't troll like you say. Again, your arguments hold no cement.

Astôlfo2 votes

I don't see how you can feel you don't have power when you're one of the people directly responsible for whether or not someone can keep playing League.

The automated system works near perfectly fine. It had a 1/6000 error chance back near first release and is even far more finetuned now.

No, they wouldn't. But the chance they would give a harsher punishment is almost absolutely certain. It is not nonsense. Boosting exists. So does buying accounts. So does just people fucking around and thinking it's funny to troll every now and then.

Your argument is non-existent.

ChocoNanaKens2 votes

The automated system doesn't account for all factors. Most of the time everyone leaves the lobby right away so the person asking to ban a player never has a voice. The automated system doesn't even look it over if it only has 1 person reporting. It needs at least 3 in order to check. And even so, if the player were to be reported by say a lobby of 4 clansman trolling him, then he would be banned regardless.

Boosting exists, yes. But so do match records and chat logs. You could easily see if a person is on tilt or something while making the decision. If you want, it could be a pool of 3 people that determine a case instead of just 1, as to defeat the concept of jailor-prisoner. That way if 1 person was having a bad day like you said, the other 2 would not.

I'm trying to make a system work here, but you just don't care and would rather let a cheap robot do it.

Your arguments are non-existent.

Astôlfo2 votes

You do realize multiple jailors all were together against multiple prisoners?

And it's not just "a cheap robot". It's an automated system that handles it far faster than any number of humans could. And it does its job far better than humans would.

Complain more kid.

ChocoNanaKens2 votes

Yes, i have seen the experiment. But you are trying to connect something that has absolutely no merit here. I've even provided an example in order to fix that prisoner situation but you just don't seem to grasp logic. CS:GO has some one of the cleanest communities around and it'd be simple to incorporate that system here.

If your cheap robot does such a great job, then why is "Player Behavior and Moderation" a board? Why is it that you see so many threads with players who have evidence asking Riot to ban someone that hasn't been banned? Oh that's right, because it's a cheap automated system that doesn't fix anything.

You've ran out of arguments and it's a shame that you continue to mouth off. You're clearly one of the trolls, which is why you choose not to figure something out and instead cause problems.

Go ahead and worship your robot overlord.

Keep complaining buddy. You're honestly hilarious. Just wait a second so I can go get my popcorn.

You don't "fix" the issue as long as you have human people deciding.

CS:GO has one of the cleanest communities

Oh, you could've just said you were a troll. That would've been faster.

If your cheap robot does such a great job, then why is "Player Behavior and Moderation" a board?

Because trolls who rage and spew all sorts of toxic crap come here to cry about how their ban was unfair?

Why is it that you see so many threads with players who have evidence asking Riot to ban someone that hasn't been banned?

Except you have no way of knowing if they got a punishment or not outside of checking their match history to see if they coincidentally stopped playing?

Oh that's right, because it's a cheap automated system that doesn't fix anything.

Keep crying.

LOOOOOOOOOOL

ChocoNanaKens2 votes

Lmao i'm so done with you dude, you can't come up with any arguments so you choose to just make fun of me. If you don't wanna actually discuss how to fix the problem then, go troll someone else.

Astôlfo2 votes

mmk kiddo cry more

But you really shouldn't criticize others when you fail to realize the hilarious depths of your own ignorance and irony.

ChocoNanaKens2 votes

You know you're right. I'm very sorry that I was trying to discuss an actual matter with someone who is bronze 4 and on tilt. I looked at your account and like you said "what if they're having a bad day?" Looks like you gave evidence to your own point. Goodbye troll.

Astôlfo3 votes

Aight bud. However many tears you need to float your boat. :)

Also it's cute you try to pull the rank card as a Silver 4 when you're talking to someone who's incredibly new to both League and MOBAs (started in mid-Dec 2015, first MOBA) and barely cares about how good they are because they're playing for fun/to learn?

But hey, if you need to act like this to calm down, keep going, by all means :)

ChocoNanaKens2 votes

Aww, it's cute that you're trying to pull the victim card out now. "you're talking to someone who's incredibly new to both League and MOBAs" Even though you've been playing since 2015.

Awwww. item 3070

Astôlfo2 votes

You should work on your English reading comprehension skills kiddo. I said I was playing since mid-December 2015. That's around 2 weeks or less. Sure, I was playing in 2015. Not for any meaningful part of it. :)

Cry more, cutiepie. :)

ChocoNanaKens2 votes

2 weeks and a year. So yes, my comment still stands.

Boo hoo you. item 3070

Astôlfo2 votes

Not a meaningful one in the slightest. Cry more cutie. :)

ChocoNanaKens2 votes

Not a meaningful one, yet you're still here in the forums. So you've proven my point that you are indeed a troll. Good job. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Astôlfo2 votes

???

It's sort of hard to prove something that doesn't exist. But okay, if me entertaining your delusions makes you happier, cry on. :)

ChocoNanaKens2 votes

"Doesn't exist." Ok. Now you're clearly a troll advocating for other trolls. Good bye.

Astôlfo2 votes

mmk. Keep whining. :)

You're bad at the game. You don't need to be good at it to make a fair point

You do understand that watching over inmates is different then being a jury (something that many countries have)? The tribunal was many peer reviewed decisions, not people watching over banned accounts. What you are saying is just a bad metaphor and has no actual weight behind it.

ChocoNanaKens2 votes

Holy crap, someone with a brain. Thank you sir.

Astôlfo2 votes

Maybe you should take the chance to ask him how to develop your own.

Astôlfo2 votes

You also do realize the problem that applies to one person applies to the group?

Also, backlog was still a major issue with things taking months to go through.

ChocoNanaKens2 votes

Just don't listen to Nep2une. He's a troll.

Astôlfo2 votes

Irony is hilarious.

ChocoNanaKens2 votes

Sure is pal.

Is that meant to be offensive? Please don't imply I'd be your "pal". Thanks. ;)

This is actually a common myth. Rioters have commented multiple times that a single report is enough to fflag the system to check for toxicity.

And even so, if the player were to be reported by say a lobby of 4 clansman trolling him, then he would be banned regardless.

Building on the previous stated myth as mentioned, 4 reports acts the same way as 1 report; to flag the system and check for toxicity.

The system was programmed this way intentionally to prevent group bullying as you mentioned.

S0kaX2 votes

Because the stupid actual automatic system I don't think tribunal is ever coming back ...

Kei1431 votes

The majority of effort is on the League Client Update still. Once that's done they may be able to dedicate some time to the Tribunal and Honor Initiative, but for now all we can do is wait.

EvilDustMan1 votes

They also have to come up with a system that is quicker. The old tribunal was hella slow.

Really, what most people want from the tribunal is either for quicker punishments of feeders, which means feeder buster needs to be tuned, or they want their bans for toxicity overturned, which won't happen.
