I believe that adding a voice chat to the game would greatly decrease toxicity

Lately I feel like there's a lot more toxicity in games, maybe it's due to the new season rank reset, maybe it's not, but it has gotten so bad that a lot of games I just /mute all as soon as I get in, and I consider myself a player who really enjoys communicating and using chat (even just for memeing). I feel like being able to communicate with the team, and make a plan would help players stay more focused on the game. I think that for a game where communication and your teammates' actions play such a big part in your enjoyment of it, voice chat is very important. In higher elos voice chat would probably help avoid/clear up most conflicts. I don't know why Riot isn't more open/vocal to the community about this, but I'm hoping they'll tell us something soon. What do you guys think about all this?

Oh fuck that.

Moderating voice chat is far harder.

Sure sure, I would love to be flamed because of my voice before the game even starts. Would be wonderful indeed.

Riot have said that they plan to explore voice chat options in the future, after the client is out of beta. I'd prefer it to be an opt-in service so I don't have to use it by default.

It would decrease toxicity in some areas, while increasing it a lot overall.

It would decrease the misunderstandings when someone is just trying to be helpful/and it's hard to understand their intentions without voice, some things can come across as cold or negative when they really aren't.

It would somewhat decrease the amount of people acting like 'assholes' for lack of a better word. It's not as funny when you can hear some kid making the dumb jokes and saying 'stop feeding' and 'kys'.. it's more likely to get that person made fun of themselves.

It would increase the amount of flaming overall: now people will flame for having weird sounding voices, accents, young sounding voice, and for being a girl. Also, some of the things said over voice chat would offend people more when they can hear the voice. And if it's a built-in feature, people will now try to flame you for not using voice.

It's a good idea in concept, but it would cause a lot of problems that I mentioned and more, and that's why a lot of games never implement it and just let people use third party programs like Skype.

The last thing League needs is some little mouthbreathers trying to shotcall while spitting shht.

yeah, good plan OP.

Not to mention the children who'd be present listening to their teamates spew all sorts of filth only fit for 18+ ears.

yeah, good plan OP!

Besides, I've always wondered what a death threat from a kid would be like...would I laugh?

...yes I would.
