Why? Because without them we'd have a ton more trolls running around than we do now. Not only that but asking for proof helps separate the salty liars from the people who actually want to have a healthy discussion with others.
As for your initial post I've never seen any case of someone being banned just for saying thank you. The people who claim that they were punished just for saying "X" were in fact punished for saying "Y and/or Z" rather than just "X".

On the other hand and I dont care if I say this, this acc gets banned since its just another smurf. Im atleast using a means to obtain username and pass of other peoples account and I log on to theirs, fuck around and get them a sweet perma within 2 games. This has been going on, and being used for both legitimate reasons, ( toxic, boosted, ruined game) or personal reasons ( in promo and they afk etc)
and since its already been established, that if I make it look like they gave me their acc user and pass. that puts them at fault< and thus not issuing a ban on my end.
its too fking easy. take this one guy for example. TeemoPolice< user: Avirael pass:TeemoPolice1 im Sure youre aware of the board postings made by this person, that was me on his acc getting it banned from here as well.
how are you telling me hes plat, has that many champs, and still gets beginner pop ups. boosted as shit, on top of that he was in one of my games a while back and just fed. Now look, log on to his acc and see, a nice perma ban from here and on boards.
