Worst Community In All Of Gaming

Before I get all the negative trash talk, which I already get enough from this community in game, hear my opinion.

I get on to play this game to enjoy myself, the game can be very fun a good puzzle for the brain. Yet literally every single game im grouped with the most ignorant human beings this side of the earth can create. Every damn game!

Theirs no pause in between, if I que I have to hear trash talk from my team, the Enemy team, people flaming at each other, afking, pointing fingers, and everything else you can imagine outside of crashing a space shuddle into the other person.

My main got banned for 14 days literally from defending myself. I'm sorry but most of the time I can completely keep my cool. Be enthusiastic, try to lead my team in the right direction objective wise or teamfighting. However I am only human, I can only sustain so much abuse as a person before I get sick of it and lash back.

Not even in a bad way generally but just trying to defend myself from the most rude and selfish people I've ever met in my life. Calling me bad, telling me I'm worthless, I'm fat, I'm stupid, I should uninstall, racist things, telling me to kill myself, that I should die, spam pinging me until my ears are ringing because it's fun. Enemy team driving the point in that they are winning the game by emote spamming saying things like ff5.

Now just as a reference I used to be a professional gamer for EGL playing COD 4 and Halo 2-3. I played competitively in tournaments and obviously online too.

I used to think man these community's are so bad. Some really toxic people play this.

Looking back it's almost like a blessing to have had a community with a few bumps here and there.

I have officially uninstalled my client even though I am not perma banned. I refuse to continue supporting a game with such negative people playing it.

I was raised to defend myself and will continue to do so. I'm not going to be belittled by some random person who doesn't know me or anything about me.

I hope one day riot can figure out how to balance this game out and make it better for my fellow gamers but that time isn't now.

Good luck in your endeavors I just wanted to put my two cents out there because I am beyond frustrated.

P.S. Yes their is a mute button, but if I told you to play chess blindfolded how would that work out. Ask yourself that Question?

You can't defend yourself man ;/ you just have to mute the enemy team because if you say anything you'll get reported and punished for it.

Neutral.

There's only 3 fixes to this problem I can think of:

  1. Make friends, queue up with them. That takes care of your worrying about your team being toxic/griefers/trolls
  2. Be a positive player on the Rift and hope to rub off on strangers, which in turn may convince them to pay it forward
  3. Mute anyone at the first sign of negativity/toxicity. Don't engage in a pointless debate. Simply mute, report if you choose and move on.

Worst community? I'd say not. Quick true story. Once upon a time on a server in the game World of Warcraft, a kid killed himself due to online bullying on said server. The servers community held an in-game funeral and asked the enemy faction to respect the moment and not attack. Everything went fine until a lot and I mean a lot of people on the enemy faction proceeded to slaughter almost everyone involved in the funeral. The end.

While Riot is banning these people in droves daily, it will never end. Your going to have to learn how to coexist with it in game like you would irl.

Man, I'd hate to see you try to play an actual sport. You would probably assume the fetal position the first time a coach/teammate told you that you did something wrong.

I don't even understand how people can downvote this. Do I not have valid points? Do you not have these problems in your games I can't be the only person. I watch streams and see the same things when other people are playing.

Do you really enjoy being in a community like this? Would you not want it to be changed for the better?

I've never run across a single toxic player in pvpve mmorpgs. I know it's a completely different genre, but I believe most of the time ppl tend to unleash the poison in this game because kills matter a lot. Teammates suffer when opponents' fed, and they suffer when they aren't the ones getting the kills, so they're less likely to be friendly. When I pvp in several different mmorpg's, we charge in, get wiped, regroup to address the problems, say " these guys r nubs we were just playing dumb leggo", and shout yolo in all chat as we charge back in. Even if in the end we lost hard, no one cared and ppl went " something something healer bad" and healer went " wtfbbq noheals4u".

Think of it this way. If each kill gives 100g and no exp, do you still care about a 5/0 opponent, which can still be handled easily, as much as you would now? In fact, if opponents aren't rewarded as much, and your teammates are doing bad, it may even give you a sense of heroism, thinking "this team's hopeless I need to save the game" which isn't hard to do because the fed opponents aren't that much ahead in terms of items and levels. This shows potential to make ppl care less about dying or not getting kills, but unfortunately this isn't going to happen because it's against the nature of this game.
