Dodging alternatives / Dodge voting

So I come into contact with players in the pre-game from time to time that can be very toxic. We all remember them as the players that spam "Mid or feed" in chat as soon as you get into the lobby. I always hated the fact that if that player didn't get what they wanted, you were forced to face their punishment or be penalized for dodging the game. This can be seen from low elo to high elo, take Tyler1 for a good example. Wouldn't it be easier to add a voting system into the lobby were the player being rude was punished and not the martyr who takes the dodge que?

Imagine if once you got into a lobby with a player who refuses to play the role they were given and wants to make the game as miserable as possible for the rest of their teammates. What if you one of the players could click a button next to the said players name to initiate a dodge vote for the rest of the team. The player choosing to start the dodge could, write a small blurb in a text box and send the vote to the rest of the team, outside of the troublesome player of course, and the team can decide to play with this person or not.

This is almost exactly how this is carried out in World of Warcraft's instances. (I've provided an example image from WoW.) And using this method we can play more games with less negative players. It could have a scaling ban period for continuous offenses. Say the first time a player wants to harass their own team, the rest of the lobby decides to kick that player and the player receives a short five minute que ban, and the next time it would be a ten minute ban.

And for some players who have received a ban for being afk and have to wait twenty minutes for a que, they don't want to have to dodge a game and sit through another twenty minutes que time. Because while these players may deserve their ban for leaving a game, it doesn't mean they shouldn't enjoy the game.

Overall I feel something needs to be done, we can't keep punishing players for dodging games that wouldn't be fun just because one player doesn't want to play the role they were auto-filled to. I want to see our community enjoy every game win or lose, and being forced to play with players who ruin the game strays people away from the game.

I'd love to hear feedback and other ideas from the community, so thank you for reading this! ~ TechnicalFever

So I'm going to be devil's advocate here and think about the cases it can be abused.

"A bunch of META sheep will vote to kick someone out of champ select of they picked an off-meta champ." - Results, Off-meta champs will rarely be able to be played, and new META will be very slow to emerge.

Unless you have a way to stop the abuse cases, this idea will always be a bad one.

No.

No because people will vote against team mates who choose a champion they do not approve of. I'm still getting raged at for playing Ekko jungle even though its a meta pick.
