14 days? A bit harsh for no reasoning

So I'm in my promos to gold (was pretty happy about this since its my first time actually trying to climb and not just play 10'games here and there) and after coming off a 12 game win streak lose all 3 games in a row to.... Well let's say questionable plays(I say questionable plays but you can't really play when hard camped in a 2v1), I try to shake it off and move on to climb back into my promos only to get kicked out and pick up a 14 day ban.

I'm not going to say I was a model player because that would be a lie, but I was hardly worthy of picking up a 14 day ban. A player can only take so much abuse before it gets to be so much. For instance when you're trying your hardest but keep getting players hellbent on tilting their own team, like the Veigar support that refused to participate in the lane phase other than to flash q minions then run back under tower and flame me for missing cs vs 2 poke champs, or the skarner intentionally feeding lanes by running in and not attacking just running in circles, or the urgent that lost lane but chose to flame me for losing a 2v1 lane with heavy jungle pressure and an inting jungle.

I'm just curious how it's fair to ban a player victim of players trying their hardest to go out of their way to get a reaction out of you and when you finally say something (nothing even close to racist or hatful in any way other than telling someone to fk off or roport the trolls). I'm just at a loss because the "reform" card was just a blank window with an I understand button.

Sorry for the rant I'm just a bit mad that in the previous years I was considered honourable and without changing anything suddenly I'm picking up chat restrictions and now a 14 day ban while being the same player I was in the years before.

This looks photoshopped to me. If this is real though, It could be possibly because of something you wrote in pre-game or post-game lobby. The system does not have a way of posting those chat logs

I didnt post anything in post game, I just reported the veigar and skarner and requeued, as fast as in game I know what I said it was mostly defending the fact that I was being trolled when ever mid or top flamed me for losing lane 2v1 and I told the ekko to fk off one time because when I was trying to farm to stay in the game he ran in took all the lane farm then followed me to the jg waited for the mobs to get low then took the mobs.

In retrospect I should have just muted everyone and took the game as a loss, but it's ranked, why play ranked if you don't play to win.

TV and real life teach you to stand up to bullies. If you do that in LOL, you are being 'retaliatory-toxic' and you get banned for it. Rito sure teaches kids quality lessons x) Its better to pretend to be Jesus and love everything and everyone right? -losing all your moeny and dying in the process. Am I taking rules in a game too far? I am not sure really, moral principles are principles no matter if its a PC game(with social aspect) or real life you should always follow them and being forced to be nice to toxic ppl is just simply wrong no matter if its in the tos or not IMHO.... I grew up in the age of stand up to a-holes, not doing anything about it makes you part of the problem. This new age everyone's special don't say anything to hurt anyone's feelings is pretty bs.

If someone says "Hey ass hole" to you in a bar do you a) ignore him b) get in his face and yell back or c) punch him in the face? If you chose b or c you can't be upset when the bar throws you both out because you were both disrupting the other patrons. There are systems in place to deal with toxicity, if you chose to ignore these systems and take it into your own hands odds are you will make things worse and get in trouble yourself.

You don't need to stand up for yourself if there's no one harassing you. That's where the mute button comes into play.

not doing anything about it makes you part of the problem.

Reporting them at the end does something at least. You've been through 3/4 punishment tiers so you have a general idea of what happens. Next one is perma.

Not a good comparison at all.

Bullies in school are somebody you face every day. They pose a constant and tangible problem for you. Standing up for yourself is one way to break a cycle of abuse against yourself.

Trolls and douchebags on League... aren't that. Would you get out of your car and fight somebody who takes your parking spot, or cuts you off on the highway? Would you start a bar fight because somebody is rude to you in a restaurant? When the guy ahead of you in line at Starbucks was too busy texting to figure out what he wanted to order and takes an extra thirty seconds, do you flip your lid?

It's honestly less about moral principles and more about appropriate responses. Long arguments in League benefit nobody, and can distract and tilt your team. The impulse to "defend yourself" by flaming back helps nobody, and can hurt everybody. Respond in the responsible and most effective and efficient way you can by simply muting the offending party.

Right. That's why people are hopefully educated enough to know the difference between a real life bully, a criminal, and an anonymous stranger in a video game. Also, I would hope they're intelligent enough to read rules and adjust to certain situations. I completely understand why so many people get banned, because kids aren't particularly good at being sensible. They tend to hear one thing, and apply that to everything. They haven't learned how to think critically and control their emotions. As for adults that get banned from this game, theres really no excuse.

Likely the "defense" contained enough to cause an infraction yourself. Attacking those attacking you isn't a defense - just more attacks and is reportable. As you noted the mute was the way to go, and I'm genuinely glad you identified that yourself. Unless you get that 14 day overturned, I'd make sure to just immediately mute and try to not to let them get to you - hate to see someone start to turn the corner get permabanned.

You see the other side of the coin is muting also makes it difficult to keep playing the game. Pinging objectives 9/10 times (at least in my experience) is met with "wah omg stfu pinging"

They can mute chat and not pings. If you're going the 9/10 route, well if 9/10 pings are ? spam and not useful towards gameplay - why should they expect the 1 ping that's actually gameplay relevant?

Exactly why so many people dont listen to pings, because so many people use it to bm with ? pings. That's my point, you need chat if you cut off half your communication you're shooting yourself in the foot.

If you really had no infractions whatsoever before this, then it's almost likely that you began dropping racial slurs and hate speech.

Even more the reason to believe so because you opted to not post the chat logs.

It's stupid. They should consider prolonging chat restrictions if your only offense is something you said in chat. They should reserve bans for people who intentionally feed/lose the game. Very stupid system.

Or if certain naughty words are the only thing that will net you a ban, perhaps they should globally censor keywords since they detect keywords just to ban you with the automated system in the first place...

Damn and that was only after a 3 loss streak. Imagine if your win streak, was actually a loss streak how tilted you would be.
