Permanent bans should be put up for re-evaluation after a while. Please read before down voting.

I just want to preface this by saying I am not permanently banned, so I'm not just raging. I just don't think the concept of permanently banning people is not very fair to certain people.

I know that a lot of people who have been banned will probably never reform, but I do believe that there are some people who can truly learn from their mistakes and improve. I know Riot has done some studies that say most people who are punished don't reform if given another chance, but I would definitely put up with one or two extra trolls a week if it meant that some of my fellow players who did reform got to play again. As much as I dislike people who feed or flame their team mates, in the end it really doesn't matter because It's still very possible to climb and you can still enjoy the game and practice for next time even if it's 4v5.

If the time stamp was set at a few months, I highly doubt any but the most dedicated trolls would go through all the trouble of sending in a request just to be banned 2 games later. Those people who are truly dedicated to ruining the experiences of others could easily just buy or level up smurfs.

If a player proves to be truly unresponsive to additional chances, then they should lose their account, but in the system right now from how I understand it. You go from chat restriction, which is a joke of a punishment to be honest, to a 2 week ban, to a permanent ban. Two weeks isn't really enough time to think about what you've done and you don't even miss your account if you've been banned for 2 weeks so you won't really think about losing your account forever.

That's just my opinion anyways, I guess I just believe in the American principle that it's better to let a few bad guys go in order to make sure no good guys are wrongly punished.

I'm glad we're having a discussion about this but some people still don't seem to get the point, notably, The Curator. I'm not interested in people who's only goal is to make the other person look dumb and completely discredit their idea. We should build off of each other's opinions and reach a reasonable solution.

But then they wouldn't be permanent bans.

I think they should just make a big warning pop up explaining what permanent actually means tbh.

'I've said this before,I'm for reform, but to me, just being neutral isn't enough.

There has to be at least a year of positive influence and maybe community service to make it count.

The point is to show you there are irreversible consequences to everything. The message really sinks in doesn't it, when you're constantly wishing you could be unbanned? I do get where you're coming from, but I'm just telling you permanent bans are the most effective message.

Its really hard to get permabanned with riot's current system. I find the way they run it to be very forgiving and a great system.
