Undeserved 10-Game chat restriction

Ok so I just got a 10-game chat restriction, and I really fail to understand why. I did not curse at anyone. I only responded to people flaming me, without cussing at them might I add. and the only time i said a "bad word" was at the start of the first game because i miss timed my heal for my support and he died before i could save him. after that he called me a %%% and started to troll my lane ( farming and pushing, leaving for no reason.. etc).

So.. please explain to me how this is counted as flaming when what my "teammates" were saying to me was 100x worse, and how I deserve to drop from my level 4 honor because of this.

I do think you deserved a punishment. In your first game, you called for reports several times, and called your teammates trolls. They might have been trolls, but even if this were true, you're not helping the situation, you're just making it worse. Game 2 isn't all that bad, but in both games, you don't have anything that deals with the game itself. I'd also point out that repeating other's slurs and or calls for suicide does at times get you severely punished, but it's good to know that didn't happen in this case.

It counts as flaming because, it is flaming. What they said also counts as flaming because they were also flaming.

League of legends has the view that each toxic player is frustrating to deal with, so both flamer(person who starts flaming) and the flamee(person that flames back) are getting a ban if they get caught flaming.

You shouldn't talk back to flamers. You should mute and report them.

This punishment is meant for you to learn what isn't acceptable behaviour, which this isn't. Even if what your teammates said what 100x worse.

Keep in mind that this mean that the next punishment will likely be a 25 game chat restrict (if you do get one that is).

IN EXACTLY NO INSTANCE DOES ANOTHER PLAYER'S TOXIC BEHAVIOR JUSTIFY YOUR OWN. Period.

You can just mute them and report them after the game. You made a conscious decision to be toxic in return, no matter how toxic they were or were not actually being. This chat restriction is well-deserved. I'm surprised they didn't suspend you.
