i was banned on 01/05/17. i know i'm not the best sportsmanship player but i 100 percent agree that the reason why i got banned was unfair if riot employees read what two of my team mates were saying to me it would negate all flaming, i done towards them due to the fact they were flaming me as well and first.. i;m not upset about the fact i got banned its just how it was went about

Other players flaming you, even if they do it first, does not negate any flaming you do towards them. You are responsible for your behavior and your behavior alone, and what other players say/do does not excuse any poor behavior you exhibit in game. If others are flaming you, the best response would be to mute them and report them after the game if you feel it necessary. Flaming back at them does nothing to help the situation. Doing so is simply makes a bad situation even worse.

You're welcome to plead your case if you think that will help, but we're gonna need to see those chat logs. But I can tell you now that retaliation or "defending yourself" aren't acceptable excuses. Ultimately, you're responsible for your own actions. If you flamed, all that matters is you flamed.

In league, you're dealing with people who you'll probably never see again, and you can mute them if you want. The necessity to "defend yourself" from internet trolls is infinitely less present than with school bullies.
Plus, lots of people that flame in League aren't bullies. They're just people that don't know how to properly communicate. Stooping to their level causes games to spiral out of control, with even non-participating teammates getting dragged into flame wars. The only sane response to flaming teammates is to ignore them, or to de-escalate the situation if possible. Reactive flaming would be dumb even if it weren't punishable, and ignorance of the fact that it IS punishable can't be claimed for a perma when the individual clearly went through several stages of punishment to get to that point.

Trolling a game from the start for a laugh, telling people to kill themselves over a single death, or otherwise degrading someone past insulting their inability to play correctly can be seen as bullying. I often tell people they suck at a champion or to play normals with that 0/20/0 score but I don't tell people to kill themselves or uninstall because that's going too far. Maybe play normals or co op vs ai if you're 0/20 but you can still play. I get mad too but not to the point of death threats. Sometimes if they're especially mean I'll just submit a ticket but it's whatever. It's competitive in ranked, so I get that.

Which is what writing a support ticket helps me do. If I tell someone about the problem, not caring to see if the person was punished (I don't even remember them anyway) it's like a filter I can just throw their crap into. Instead of flaming them back, I just send a ticket. I learned my lesson a while ago. I mean on off days I'll get mad and go 0/20 but I never tell someone to kill themselves.
