I was chat restricted for 24 games for calling a toxic lucian "retarded"
So I played a game yesterday where our adc in champ select wanted Ezreal and our Cho'gath support banned vayne. Well the enemy first picked Ezreal (go figure) and then our adc starts flaming Cho'gath for banning vayne even though he never stated that he wanted vayne at any point in the champ select. This flame continues in the game as he keeps being passive aggressive. Well at this point I don't say anything because I was assuming they were premade and were just joking around. Later the Lucian randomly just afks (not dc he just starts sitting under tower) he does this for about 3 min until he dies and then comes back and starts flaming Cho'gath again. At this point I start flaming the Lucian saying how he afk'd and then came back just to flame like a retard. Well he continues going afk for like 3 min coming back dying then afking again for the rest of the game. Well after that game I reported him and next game I had a chat restriction and I was like wtf? And then I sent in a support ticket and was told this.

Firstly, I want you to understand we hold all players to the same standard. Even if you don't see the other player was punished, doesn't mean no action was taken.
I understand other players can be negative or provocative but being super negative in chat wasn't the right way to handle the situation. This kind of behavior is not okay as it ruins the experience for others. A chat restriction is more a nudge that this kind of behavior isn't very respectful and is out of line. It also means it might be best that you use chat more conservatively, mute players instead of responding, and focus on yourself and your own gameplay. If you feel the need to respond to their negativity, take a moment to recognize if what you're about to say will help the team or create a bigger rift. If you're not sure, it might be best to say nothing instead.
My hope is that you mute those players and report them instead of responding to them. If you'd like more tips on how to prevent further punishments, let me know!
