Will anything happen?

I have been playing league for quite some time now, and I find the community could use some work. But most times I'm able to ignore it and do quite well. Recently, I've had a run in with a player who was so beyond verbally assaulting I broke into tears at the computer. So bad so my husband had to come see what was wrong. Like I said, normally I can get past this stuff, I have a child who's at that age, so harsh things don't affect me. But this was totally uncalled for, belittling, and just down right unbearable for me. I don't want people to think that I'm just weak because I'm a woman, or a cry baby seeking attention. Like I said, I've played for many years with very little problems, but this person was beyond uncalled for in behavior, and I'd like to know, does our reporting of them have an affect whatsoever? Do the Devs read the comments when we report? Is there a way to find out if the person was punish in any way? If not, is there a way to completely avoid the player, kind of like what they didn't on Call of Duty years ago where you could avoid a player for unsportmanlike conduct or just being bad at the game? I'd really like to know, thanks in advance.

In the future, I highly recommend you take advantage of the /mute feature.. It's there for these reasons... But good luck, sorry to hear about it.

The reporting system is mostly automated and generally does a good job of punishing the right people when they need it. If you feel that reporting them isn't enough, or if you have screenshots of their behavior out of game (such as pre/post game) you can submit a support ticket. I can't guarantee that anything would come out of it, but those cases typically get hand reviewed.

As for avoiding the player in question, there really isn't any way to avoid them coming up in your future games, but it is highly likely that you won't see them again. You can add the player to your block list so that they cannot contact you as well.
