Heya dudes,

This is just a heads up that we’re executing a fairly massive banwave on a good majority (all) of cheaters today. I know we’re normally pretty silent about this type of thing (gotta keep our enemies in the dark), but seeing as how it’s probably the 3rd largest salt mine I’ve ever excavated, I figured we’d give a little advanced notification.

I’d also like to cunningly make use of everyone’s eyeballs as a reminder that we’re definitely not into applications that provide measurable player advantage. The cheating we’re targeting here is primarily comprised of modifications that take actions on your behalf (affectionately called scripting), and that’s our least favorite type of mojo. It’s probably been said before, but this is meant to be a fair videogame and you shouldn’t ever have to go digging for add-ons just to stay competitive.

We've got a lot of work to do in preventing this behavior from occurring in the first place, but rest assured, the banhammer won't stop swinging until the message really sinks in.

Can we get some tips on how to spot scripting in our games? I've seen what I suspected before, but to be frank, I don't exactly know what to look for unless I did it myself, which I will not do.

Don't gotta break into any Riot secrets, just what should I report and what should I not. What would a scripter look like in my game?

I had an internal debate with the Arbiters (ok, it was just Wuks that answered) about how clear a violation the following would be; making a macro which performs one action (ping) and types and sends one chat message (Enemy Warded) simultaneously. His conclusion was that it breaches the rules on macros which perform multiple actions with one button. What do you think?

I've always wondered about this one issue I have. A couple months ago I was introduced to being able to set my attack move on my left click and it has dramatically made it more comfortable for me to play and improve. I wasn't so sure if this was allowed but the YouTuber Phylol informed me that Rekkles used to use it so its legit; Doublelift even once mentioned using it on stream. However I've always had an underlying worry about it. What do you guys think?

Don't worry though, they all have fresh level 30 accounts ready to grind to diamond by tomorrow to sell for 200 anyways.

The only thing I'm concerned about is proof of what script was being used. In the past people have come out as saying they don't use scripts, riot says they do, and there is no proof offered. If someone does happen to be falsely tagged as using scripts how are they ever going to prove they didn't use one? How can they counter an accusation from someone who presents no proof?

I've kept an eye on scripters forum, and it seems a lot of them got banned. GG Riot!

IMO if it cannot be done by just using what is available as-is in the game and game options, then it should not be allowed because then you're taking something that did not come with the game and adding to it to get an advantage over others. Even an auto-message is saving you precious time that could otherwise cost someone actions or split-second decision-making time to type out. In high elo games, split seconds can decide a fight, especially so against someone that can sneak up on you.

u cant take out cheaters when the huge problem is trollers and afks. Cheaters can always create new accs.

Oh well. You can ban our accounts. But we will never stop. How good does it feel to have so many players cheat in your game? Does that not send a message? Scripting is the only way I can have fun in your shit show of a game. Almost all scripters can relate to this aswell. I have been doing this for 5 years, and I will never stop ruining your game. I will baseult everyone and spam xerath all day, everyday. Pce kids. Let the hateful comments begin.

I mean, vladimirs that had an easy penta if they just stayed in my taric ult instead of exiting and suiciding and calling me a retard noob, bot lanes that are 26 cs @10 mins and then go apeshit as soon as i come to their lane to shove 3 turrets while they stop autoattacking and flaming the shit out of me while i'm carrying 1v9 them, laners that survive a gank with 2 hp and go full sperglord as soon as i tax their lane to make the opponent lose 12 cs while spamming me "go away ping" tanking dangerously those caster minions, retards that i painfully carry and then threaten me of "REPROT", supports that are walking afk in lane that deny me an easy double killing me in the process and making me lose 40 cs, 1 turret, 4 kills and something else? You know, this kind of stuff. (btw, the video is a bright situation, not even a bad one so don't take it as an example, it was just to make the joke.)

Question, what is the official policy on things like replay.gg? I've heard from some people that that site can get you into trouble if Riot detects it but I've had no concrete evidence either way. I'm asking because I had a salty Evelyn in a game that wanted to report me and 2 other teammates for "hacking" when all it was is that we got fed. Even so, some of my friends told me I could be in trouble if they saw replay.gg on my account since it's a 3rd party program, even though it doesn't alter performance at all.
