Yeah there are a lot of experienced players who are leveling up new accounts and will really pound you if you are new. You are better off playing bots matches until you can crush them on the hardest difficulty every time. Will give you a chance to play with players similar in skill and yo don't need to worry abot your enemy being a smurf or abusive. Best to learn more about the game and all the heros in a players Vs. AI environment. Also, people who were banned for harassing others are always in low levels because they made a new account; kind of frustrating, but just mute and report them and move on when you come across these types of people, matter of time before they are banned yet again; dont let them suck you into it and getting yourself involved.

Welcome to league. It is hard to say don't take it to heart but it does get to you. Very toxic setting. Best advice is if you like the game and graphics and champions then that's what counts. Mute them if needed. Try to find some positive in the game.

Everyone in the community agrees that it's a terrible group, try not to take it too personally.

As for new players, I'd suggest that you stick with bot games for now. Once you hit the 15-20 level range you may be able to take on Intermediate bots with a good chance of winning. Wait until at least level 25 for pvp, that's when you get fewer smurfs and more consistent teammates.

These aren't hard rules though, just don't try to rush learning the game. Take your time and you'll get the hang of it.

It really is a deep creation and it'd be amazing to me to see deeper exploration of the complexities and nuances of the game someday. I'm sure that they're in there, since the makers of League have invested so much time and energy into their craft, and they are dedicated players themselves.

My favourite champ to play is Teemo, and from his conception as "the Swift Scout", I've had a blast playing him with different scout-oriented goals in mind.

Add me if you like, and I'll play with you. I'm not a newbie anymore, but I've only been active in League since a few months ago. I've managed to overcome anger, so I don't rage in the game when something doesn't go ideally.
