Please RIOT! HELP ME! (Player Behavior)

I'm a 21 year old male. Now I suffer from depression and anxiety and I have been playing your game since S3. I have never been treated so poorly by a group, no not just one person, the entire GROUP! I came home from work, had a great day and I wanted to play some League (as usual to my everyday.) I hop on and I get my lane, top lane. I was gonna play Ahri top, a friend told me I should try. The group blasted me with "NO GIRLS ALLOWED" and honestly other things that if I was a female... Would make me very upset and I'm a respecter of all genders and races. It hurt me a lot, and my depression started to kick in. I asked them to stop and even muted them. They pinged me and when I died, they pinged my name saying I'm dead. Not even offering to help me. Then when I unmuted them. They were still giving hate speeches and I told the other team to report them. Then after the game, the TF from the same game in the End Game chat put very... Concerning things that made me upset and very uncomfortable. I honestly just had my entire day turned around in that one day. I want something done about this entire team please! You can read the chat, you can watch the game play, you can see everything! I will admit, during the game, I had enough and told them off hoping they would understand they are really upsetting me and... I wont lie... I did start to cry during the game (That's when I was sitting in base trying to recollect myself.) Please do something about this group of people. I don't want anyone to go through what I just did... Its scarring and for your game that I love so much... I don't want it to be ruined by these 4 people. I have screenshots but I do not know where I can put them in at. PLEASE RIOT SUPPORT, PLEASE HELP ME! (If this is not solved or taken care of... I don't know if I feel safe playing League of Legends anymore...)

I am terribly sorry that you are currently dealing with so much crap. I sympathize with you and it sucks that after a rough day you want to just have fun and then you get dumped into a terrible environment with bad teammates. However, there isn't much we can do except offer our sympathies. Sarutobi is right in that the league community really can't help except give you suggestions on how to handle the situations or find explanations and or solutions to current problems.

I'm sorry that you had that kind of experience, but make sure you report people who grief you and know that reports are looked at and the staff does read them to make sure they're legitimate.

You have no idea how many times people threaten to make up reports about me in game and I'm still here. I haven't been perma banned. If Riot believed every report that was threatened against me without looking at chat logs and replays, I would have been perma banned years ago.

Just try to shake it off, play the game, if you're not going to win, turn it into practice. Just imagine it to be a coop v ai, except like hard mode. Practice last hitting. Practice following up on engages. Practice assessing situations. Practice ward placement. Practice attack moving. Practice attack animation cancelling. Practice skill shots and get more familiar with that particular hit box. There's so much you can do to turn a bad experience into a positive experience.

Every game can be turned into a positive experience if you just approach it the right way. Sure it may be frustrating but losing is one of the best teachers. Try to be happy you got to practice mechanics so that the next game you can steam roll the enemy!

Why unmute them? That to me makes no sense. People are always going to be horrible. one who is 21 years old should know that by now. The best you can do is mute them in game and report them afterwards, or play just with people you know. If its that bad maybe an online game (especially heavily reliant on other people) isnt the game for you!

But all you can do is report them and they will get punished. Coming on these boards doesnt really help because we cannot do anything. We cant look at the reports and do something about it.

Hi, first of all: This is not the Riot support. This is the boards where you will mostly find players. We can give you opinions based on the screenshots, but we can't punish anyone. If you want to contact the support you will find them here: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

If you want to share the screenshots with us just google "free image upload" and post the links here. Make sure to censor the names before as it's not allowed to show them.

Sorry that you had a bad experience, but the other comments so far are correct.

This kind of behavior, while absolutely discouraged, should be expected in reality.

Bullying is nearly always about getting a rise from someone in front of an audience of like-minded peers. In most cases of Internet bullying they are looking for you to try and defend yourself or to return insults back to them.

There will most likely not be a situation where anything you say to someone who will behave like this will convince them that what they are doing at the time is wrong.

The problem is, they have the advantage of not caring what you say about them, while you are clearly hurt by what they say.

So here is some advice, that is actually going to be a repeat of what is said before, but hear me out anyways.

Understand that they do not know you, and what they are saying in this situation is not true. Simply based on what information you provided, you ARE a male, and they were calling you a girl. They don't know either way, but you do. Ignore them.

If they are getting under your skin mute them.

If they are pinging you, turn your volume down and do your best to ignore the pings.

Play out the game, and report them.

Take a break from playing. You clearly play for relaxation and fun, maybe you are somewhat competitive, but this experience WILL impact you beyond the 30-40 minutes of in game harassment. That is evident based on the fact that you felt the need to make a post about it.

Relax for a while, then if you feel up for it, play another game.

Chances are that you will most likely not have the same, or a similar experience.

Good luck, and have fun.
