Did you report after game? If so then yeah they will. Ive gotten a few messages for punishments for players who afked and thats on 2 different accounts ive been using.
The problem is when people try to glorify them as godlike trolls that will never be punished that things get out of hand.
You can get suspensions if you leave too many games, but it is a LOT of games.
If you do feel like they rage quit, then make note of that in the comments when you report them in the post-game.

Leaverbuster is a separate punishment system. Nobody gets banned for one AFK.

Iv seen friends back in the day who got banned because they afk'd a lot. Not really their fault much due to bad net but it does happen and it does take 5+ games give or take for you to even get a warning. It does happen tho
