Appropriate Punishment?

First, I'd like to say I have been playing since Season 2, on and off, maybe missed a season or two, but I know the game well overall. My first account was banned (of course, right?) due to negativity (this account had over $200 worth of crap in it) so I learned a valuable lesson and refrained from such toxins for this new season. You can dismiss me and say I deserve it and ignore the detailed underlying facts, and immoral decision-making on the League side, giving into your emotions instead of actually dissecting the dilemma. Be my guest. If not, hear me out, please, because I know there are others in the same boat...

So I've been playing extremely friendly since I started my account, level 2 honors and collecting my loots, trying to get level 3, perhaps. I gave plenty advice, and I even brushed off feeders and newbies and gave them tips to play better! I played a few games with jerks also and even I may have said something silly like "you're bad," or something a bit degrading (in a competitive, possibly passively-aggressive way) but not inflammatory-type of aggression. Though I do feel I may have got carried away in my train of frustration. I have high anxiety and it's hard for me to type everything in one sentence. Yes, make fun of me, call me a retard - I really don't mind it personally, but it's a rule that I can be banned/muted for too, so I tend to get on people about it. Anyhow. Here is my story:

A duo pair (I assume they were duo because they both were bot and both were talking me down in unison) decided it would be cooperative to put me down for not stunning an enemy (who was under a turret and had 2 back-up champions) because our TOP-laner decided to dive WITHOUT letting me know, AND this was MY duo partner (LOL!). They initiated the bickering with "your a retarded" (fancy grammar) and I ignored it. Then, some time in the mid-game, they raged at me for not peeling the dragon with them when I was busy in JG (once again, no signals or asks for help) and so this time I responded with "stfu," because that's how I keep from flaming, I use very short rebuttals/retorts. Eventually I couldn't take it BUT I know that extreme vulgarity will get you muted and possibly banned, so I never use the words "retard," "%%%got," the n-word, "fuck boy," or ANY of these heavily toxic terms. I didn't use ANY harsh words, but I did type a grip, but that's how I am. I naturally type a lot, and I talk a lot in person too - especially when aggravated. I understand death threats, or telling someone to kill their self, or something of that nature - something potentially PHYSICALLY harmful - but why is it fair to be punished for THIS? I feel like our freedom of speech is getting tossed away as soon as you login to this game. I wish I had their side of the conversation, they said something along the lines of, "wow quit cryin like a bitch n playin the victim," which actually surprised me because I thought they would have refrained from using such phrases, knowing it can get you banned/muted. Anyways...the game ended. We won. I figured in my head: "Hey, we won, they were assfucks, but we won and I can still play another game, I don't need to report them, they will get theirs on their own." I went on to play another game (which I also won :D) only to get a prompt telling me I'm muted for a 10-Game Chat Suspension. This may seem like nothing to you, but to me, it's a severe punishment because I get super anxious when I need to type something and I can't (and I mean to cooperate, not talk smack) and I lose out on all the loots. I was being a good gamer, a forgiving gamer, a mature game, an adult gamer, and they childishly reported me...I didn't report them so it probably looked even worse for me (I don't know exactly how it works).

I just want to know: Why does the League constantly pamper the bed wetters and gossip girls? Why are we giving into the babies of the community and not the newbies and vets who want to encourage a more social style of gameplay? In my opinion, stripping someone's right to say what they want (even if it is on a video game and unsportsmanlike) is counter-productive in socializing. You basically are telling people: "just get in the fetal position, scream bloody murder, and someone will come get ya."

This is only leaving the community with more and more babies and less and less gamers who actually enjoy the competitive aspect - trash-talk included!
