Helping with your inner evil (Or, how Riot could help us not be toxic)

Since developers only apparently look at boards for ideas (stated by Riot Help and Support) here goes. I think it would be a cool idea for those of us who have trouble controlling ourselves to have an in-game option to self-mute. So say: Your team is getting on your nerves, you're not to the point yet where you're going to start raging but you're getting close. You go into settings and "Mute Self" so that either A: Others can't see what you're typing or B: You can't chat. It would need a setting where if you did decide to impose this on yourself it doesn't end until the game ends, and next game you go in with a fresh slate. Some of you may be thinking...well dude, why don't you just not talk? See for toxic people that's just too difficult. Once we're gone, we're gone and we feel a need to bash or respond when people are being rude. So Riot, help me out! Let me self mute when we feel that grumpers coming on.

Thing is, why should riot be held accountable for their players actions? I'm not saying your idea is necessarily bad. I'm just saying that the responsibility doesn't fall on them for players to act like decent humans playing a video game.

Self muting is a viable option, but will most likely get ignored anyways. If some players don't even bother muting others that harass them, how is having a self mute going to change anything?

If you want a self mute open up the hot key menu and unbind the enter key.
