Toxic Community perma bans

Recently perma banned due to retorting with similar language to 2 players in a game who were hostile. (negative attitude/bad language)

Some final thoughts before leaving this game behind.

Riot continues to have the most toxic community/ban happy system of any online game I've ever played. This is a competitive environment, people react differently under pressure. I personally do not take any offense to someone venting or raging if that's their way of coping with a situation putting stress on them.

That being said, riot's notification to players that people have been punished seems more of a reward to keep people trigger happy. The feeling of justice served via reporting every affront. Be it poor performance, bad language, itemization. When a game has become sensitive to the point of using bad language, calling someone's BS or a bad play is so traumatic for that player, their only option is to report this as a means of what? feeling better and getting back at the person calling them out? Seems less of a system for improved player attitude in games and more of catering to those with a need to justify their continued investment into this game. Hopefully dev's looking to make a future online game who use this as a template to reflect on community management systems take some lessons learned. Make a better product than this. This game is fun, under the right circumstances. I hope this community improves in the future.

I find your entire logical chain ironic here but let's focus on one part, specifically these two things.

You got perma'd not JUST because of the retorting, and you should realize that. You got perma'd for continual bad behavior. You didn't learn your lesson and the system took care of it like it should.

How can you not personally take any offense, while at the same time "retorting" as in you felt the need to say your piece on something, in a similar manner; that you believed to be hostile to begin with? If you really wouldn't have taken any offense, you probably wouldn't be here for this reason at the very least- sooooo obviously you did take offense to something that was said to you for whatever reason, be it venting or what not and that landed you in hot water. Although you omitted your logs which- in my opinion means that you know what you did was bad.

That part is good, that's a step forward. It's a shame you didn't learn that until your perma-ban though, and instead of actually changing yourself for the better you're stomping off to go do something else, which may be seen as growth to some but to me it's just kind of running away from the problem instead of facing it overall, you're not living with a mistake you're brushing it off instead. Completely up to you though, just as was your choice to say negative/rude things in the chat.

Regardless, you deserved it. "Eye for an Eye" never really makes a lick of sense, you don't want certain things being said to you- or at least generally that's the consensus the community agrees upon and utilizes for the system currently in place, so the idea that you feel it's somehow or someway unjustified or unfair because other people were doing similar, again makes little sense. Generally if you wouldn't say it to your mother in a nice tone, then you shouldn't say it to anyone else and should keep your thoughts to yourself. That's my personal rule of thumb and I've never been chat restricted or banned.

Well, peace to you~

If this is true,

I personally do not take any offense to someone venting or raging if that's their way of coping with a situation putting stress on them.

Then, why did you feel the need to do this?

Why not? What makes people get so hurt over bad language? no personal threats issued, no sexual harassment, just good old fashioned trash talking each other. Sensitivity set to maximum
