Being able to see your own chat history

There should be an option for the player to review his own chat logs for every game. We don't want the forums spammed with flame war 'proof' so the chat logs should only be from the player them-self (perhaps on the website, rather than the game).

I recently got a chat restriction and after looking at the 'card' with the logs in it, I realized what a fool I was making of myself. This usually doesn't happen but I was really tilted that day (got matched with toxic premades twice in a row) and reading the chat history made me realize that replying and engaging toxic behavior is the equivalent of getting in a fist-fight with a toddler in public.

This isn't some groundbreaking remedy to toxicity, the people that don't want to change wont change, but I believe this is a little something that could help some people self reflect and understand that ignoring aggressive players and their cries for attention is by far the best solution.

Perhaps along with teamwork / friendly etc, there could be a communication-related badge, and the chat logs of games for which you received 'honors' would be highlighted or something.

nope. riot doesnt want anything that can give borderline or reforming players tools to correct themselves. because they would no longer be able to back up thier punishment statistics

lets see. every time someone asks for self chat restrictions or self mute. it's been shot down. every time people ask for a way to tell if they're being toxic. they are told fuck you. because they are supposedly concerned that hardcore trolls will abuse it, when in reality. these players are such a minority even among "toxic" players. that this shouldnt even be an excuse. the real reason. is they need flamers to get banned so they have a strawman to make it look like theyre actually doing something about the trolls

Self mute shouldn't be a thing because people will just use that as an excuse to mute themselves, not respond to pings, and then claim they were doing it to not be salty. AND PEOPLE CAN TELL ON THEIR OWN WHETHER OR NOT THEY'RE BEING TOXIC. It's not that hard. You take a step back, and go, 'Am I being a dick?' If you are, BOOM! You're toxic! They are taking care of many of the jerks in LoL, there's just too many of them. You try it. Do you know how many people join League every day? And if you get banned, they create a smurf and keep doing it! It's an impossible job, and the fact that the community is in the shape it is today is a miracle! Riot is working hard you ungrateful whelp.

"am i being a dick" is a very vague statement. and doesnt hold the same definition to everyone. and since riot wont tell people EXACTLY what "THIER" definition is. players are forced to guess. and if they guess wrong 4 times BOOM permaban

That is one of the weakest arguments I have seen in a long time. It's pretty damn obvious whether or not you are being a dick. It's not that subjective. Are you cussing/saying racist things/homophobic slurs/threatening to feed/threatening to kill someone/telling someone to kill themselves/etc. then yes, you are being a dick. It is very, very, very easy to tell. You just have to care.

giving advice , asking for reports. asking a troll to stop trolling or you will report them trying to give them a chance for redemption. telling someone to shut up, announcing you're muting/reporting someone . trying to inform the rest of your team someone is trolling.. all these things can get you banned. but these are all "gray areas"

Not really. Giving advice is fine, it's bannable if you're snarky or rude about it. Asking someone to stop trolling is fine to, as long as you don't cuss or be an asshole while doing it too. The third one isn't bannable, and asking for reports is. News Flash! AS LONG AS YOUR REPORT MATCHES THE CHAT LOGS AND EVERYTHING, ONE REPORT IS ENOUGH FOR A BAN!!!

There already is a self mute. It's called unbinding the enter key.

every time people ask for a way to tell if they're being toxic. they are told fuck you.

The people that can't tell if they're being toxic are the same ones that say "my chat logs clean.....Game 1: fuk u nuub pussy i fuk ur momfggot"
