Racism

So, I'm playing ARAM for fun with some friends. I type in all chat something along the lines of "brb cat got launch codes again" with the intention of giving the other team a laugh. It is ARAM after all. The Janna on the other team responds with a racial slur towards me right off the bat. I ignore it and the game goes on. We lose and the Janna types "ez game". We were 4v5 due to an AFK and I let her know that we were down one person from the start. She responds with "dont make excuses you black (n-word)". Me and my friends reported her and we have yet to receive any word of her being banned. It's been about 24 hours, but I'm of the opinion that that kind of language and behavior has no place in League of Legends. This person is still out there potentially slinging racial slurs on a whim and creating a toxic environment.

The way the notifications work is that you only get one when your report was the final straw, which doesn't happen all too often (for example, if the person immediately moved on to play another match, and was reported in that one, one of those people may have gotten it).

Racial slurs are not accepted at all. People using them can result in skipping punishment teirs to either straight to a 14 day ban, or if the offense is severe enough, even permaban

Riot's punishment system at work everyone! Where you can go one game of calling someone a Black N word F word and riot laughs at you.. but go two games in a row saying curse words at intentional feeders and riot punishes that real fast!

Riot punishes racists, you may not have 'last hit' them or your reports may be low in priority due to you reporting everyone for anything (i.e. I was afk in lane for tieing my shoe and you respond LUL U TOXIC AF).

This is why I only report people for racism/homophobia/misogyny and I ban them all on my first try EVERY time.

Hope this helps.

As someone already mentioned: You will not get a notification if your report was successful. You will only get a notice if your report was the final report to get them banned, restricted, etc.

So it's not that racial slurs are accepted or not reportable, it's just you haven't had your report be the final straw to get that player punished. Either could have been a new account being toxic, or midway point of being punished. You'll never know, but do know that your report does matter.

They could have already been punished by now, who knows, but don't let not getting a notification discourage you from reporting truly deserving people.

Hope that helps and good luck :)

The only time I got a confirmation that someone I reported got banned was when a Leona on our team was being racist towards Mexicans.

Next time screenshot it and post it up here, would be funny to see them publicized and maybe the issue will be taken more seriously, also if you have screenshots, you can report it directly to the support page, I've done it multiple times and got at least 7 people banned for being overly toxic, they email you and tell you the progress of the investigation.(subjective, but one thing riot does not stand for is racism, they ban hammer like crazy over that stuff) and I find it fun to purge league of toxic people, even though I know its a redundant task, its still satisfying.

I literally came across an account named "Spic Murderer" thats still up and running. At first I thought no one had reported them, but now after I reported them they are still playing like nothing happened. Ridiculous.

If Spic Murderer is not enough to qualify for Offensive Name then why include that option to report offensive names?

I just started playing a week ago. I found this board cause I was wondering how racist this game is after that. Its not looking good.

i believe that reports are taken from things said in game and not before a match starts or the results screen. if someone says something in the results screen the best you can do is screen shot it and send Riot a ticket. a case such as yours would be a pretty severe problem so hopefully Riot would follow through accordingly.

at this point, if the Janna didn't say anything too ban worthy in game, she'll be fine. nothing will happen to her. just know that for the future, you do have power even past the report button if someone does say something mean to you.

at the end of the day, i just wish more could be done about such negative behaviors in this game. i just had a game where two people were attacking my friend and i promptly reported them afterwards. hopefully something happens but i won't hold my breathe. Riot seems to have too much going on to spend any time on anything else.
