I was just banned for 14 days for losing with Yi...

First of all i am NOT a toxic player. Little background im around a S5 player which sucks i know but this season i was 9-1 in placements, yet i was put into B4. I play Yi as much as possible cause im decent with him and i know how he works. i went 8-0 with him during the 9-1 placements. i Played this one game shortly after placements where i was Yi jungle but every lane on my team lost(this is B4 now)...Which made it more difficult for me as a yi to jungle and gank when the time came......my team was getting destroyed. Now this happens in some games which i understand but this team literally blamed me for all the mistakes. I said some semi rude things in my defense because i was getting ganged up on. Really nothing over the top though. I was trying to egg my team on for victory. This 14 day ban is rly over the top. In my 4 years playing years i never have been reprimanded for behavior ever. Plz look at this match and unban me...most undeserved:(

No. You are not punished by Riot for using a specific character.

You were punished for the "rude things" you typed out. Sorry, Sergeant. But you can't motivate your team with language that you use in boot camp.

Look i'm not saying what i said wasn't wrong and i do regret letting my own team get to me in this way. But i have a CRISP clean record this is literally my first offense. I also think its bullshit that my chat logs don't show what the other team said cause that would sway a lot of your opinions. All of what they said is reportable but i didn't even report cause this is LoL, this shit happens. I will take the fkn ban cause i have no choice but this is crazy. FIRST OFFENSE. Next time anyone/whole team is toxic towards me i will just mute and carry on.....i guess you can say lesson learned...sheesh.

When it comes to what others said, it doesnt matter at all. Your behavior matters. Only your. If someone is being potato to you there are 2 ways to handle them

  1. Be quiet, mute, play till end, report - proper way
  2. Dont mute, respond, join toxic war, ignore gameplay to continue chat war - wrong way

You have choice. If you think 2nd choice will do anything useful, then by all means choose it and take your punishment with pride. In my honest opinions 2nd option never brings anything good.

You don't get banned for a single game where you were toxic (unless that game contains XJ-9 level of fucked up). You get banned because of multiple toxic games.

I hate to break your bubble but i AM not toxic EVER unless im in a game getting ganged up on.....even with this chat post you can tell i am getting shit from everyone.my mistake was not muting everyone. i defended myself and now im banned for 14 days when i NEVER had a behavioral problem before.

This is not my experience. People abuse the report system and will report you regardless of if you abused the Summoner's Code or not.

You do realize that the system filters out people who make false reports right? Being reported a lot will not cause you to be punished unless the reports have weight to them.

As of right now, punishments are given out in this order:

1.) 10 game chat restriction 2.) 25 game chat restriction 3.) 14 day ban 4.) Permanent ban

The way it works is once you receive one punishment, your next offense will give you the next highest tier of punishment, regardless of how "minor" your offense may have been. It is possible for Riot to escalate you straight to a 14 day or permanent ban, but Riot really only does this if they deem your case severe enough. Also, it is possible to lower your punishment level by one tier if you go 3 months without receiving any punishments.

Now, here's my question to you. Have you received a 25 game chat restriction at all recently? If you have, then the 14 day ban is your next step, as it is the standard punishment after the chat restriction right now. If you haven't received a 25 game chat restriction, then it's quite likely that Riot deemed your case severe enough to escalate you straight to a 14 day ban.

Something to keep in mind, too, is that it's likely that this game wasn't the only game that you were punished for. The system isn't designed to send you the chat logs of every single game you were punished for, only the most recent ones. So if Riot did escalate your case straight to a 14 day ban, it's likely because they looked at other games in which you were reported but weren't sent to you.

As i have said i have NEVER received ANY form of punishment EVER. i am a Nice player.....this one just one game that broke me due to the severe toxicity i received.i RLy dont know what else to say. Yall are Jerks... w/e ill take this ban and never communicate with team again.

That's not true because on my old main I received two (Maybe even 3) 14 day suspensions before being banned, with chat restrictions coming in between them. This all was within 3 months, and none of it was for activity done in one single game.

I've also been in a game on an account I used to have where I was mega salty and got banned for what I did that one game. I know this,= because on that account I had just came out of the mandatory bot games, and I didn't say a word those whole bot games. Edit: I just saw you mentioned this.

When was that account finally permanently banned? The current tier of punishments has only been around for about 5 months, since patch 5.18. If this was done before patch 5.18, that would be why you had multiple 14 day bans, because Riot handled punishments differently. What I said is true as of right now.

All I said is that it's likely to have been banned for more than just one game, not that it was guaranteed. From my knowledge, it has always been possible to be banned for a single game, but Riot generally only does that if the actions in that game were pretty severe.

It was perma banned in early-mid December, so last month.

The punishment system is so inconsistent, it is in dire need of reform, much more than the players themselves.

this part right here is just beautiful. Hindsight is a real bitch sometimes. Regardless of whether your team was verbally abusive or not, you only have control over your actions. My old high school had a policy where self-defence was not an excuse for fighting, verbal or physical. Just because someone attacks you over the internet doesn't mean you have to return the favor.

Your high school was dumb to suggest self-defense is not justified vs physical threats. The difference here is that words can't put you in the hospital and thus, you don't need to defend yourself. In any case, defending one-self and retaliating are not the same thing.

Maybe you didn't deserve a 14 day punishment, but you did deserve some form of chat restriction. I know how you feel, you're going to want to defend yourself, but you can't do that by stooping down to their level.

I've been in your position before. If you are getting harassed, the best thing to do is to not say anything at all. I know it's hard to do that, but it'll help you avoid getting punished.
