Toxicity towards new player

I recently played a normal game and was paired with a very toxic player. I didn't do so well because I am just starting to play the game again after a long break. After being abused all game through chat he also added me and a friend afterwards to continually harass me. I am not playing the game for the first time and can say I am an averaged skilled player but if i was new to the game and was trying to learn how would i go about doing that seeing that if you play anything other than bots you will be hit with death threats every time you lose lane? Just wondering how Riot is addressing this issue since its been 6 years since I started playing and have never seen any improvement in the community. I would like to invite friends to play the game but I cant because I know how bad it is getting started in the game. The toxicity is one thing but having to unlock all champion took me 6 years and same with rune pages. Well I hope some of these issues can be resolved but I don't really expect anything since its has been 6 years with no improvement but thought I would post this anyways.

Never add them as friends.

Not only will this allow them to continue the abuse, but my own theory is that the chat protocol used by riot has leaks which expose your IP address at worst, and at best is used by their cheat programs to ascertain when you are in a game queue.

Ya I have a friend I tried getting to play this game and he quit shortly after level 30 cuz of the flaming lol. Granted he was especially slow at learning the game. Then I went to his house and played a game on his computer and realized his mouse is just a huge piece of shit. I told him stop playing until u get a new mouse wtf dude how can u play on that?! Cool story I know, I'm bored at work.

I started two and a half years ago and rarely encountered toxic people when i started normals, most were new like me and my friend or like us they were playing with a friend that was more experienced. Guess i got lucky... but i do think playing with a friend while learning is both comforting when someone toxic is there and helpful to the learning experience

I think riot is going to implement the blizzard chat replacement thing pretty soon, it's basically replaced whatever toxic words they use to something funny. I hope this will help a bit. But I do agree with you that it is hard for new players, or any players to have fun in all the games they played. There is almost always toxic players around, unless you have really good teammates that understand and help you report that person for his toxicity, otherwise, just mute him and focus on game. Too bad, people often just don't care enough about the community, and all they care is about winning the game. =/

If you really like to have fun, mute all the players, focus only on game, and communicate through pings.
