Toxic community?

So i just recently got to summoner level 30 and was having some fun playing unranked and stuff with people who were of an equal skill before i got to 30. Now i just played a game mere minutes ago, my first ranked game ever on lol. I had heard how toxic the lower elo players can be. So i went in as Annie mid. Long story short, i basically have a terrible game against a Talon i think was smurfing (not entirely sure) and i got absolutely slandered by my teammates. Got called a retard. Got called dumb. Got reported at least three times and got a barrage of further abuse, most of which i won't share due to it being fairly mainstream stuff. My point is however, that i came out of this game pretty much wanting to quit the game solely based on the toxic community this game has and the unforgiving nature the community and Riot seems to have towards greeting new players. I can't even queue unranked now because i get matched with people who are clearly way better than i am and you even get people who flame in unranked. So can anyone help me try and stay on the game? I really want to stay because i love the game and i want to get better at it, but most of the people give me no confidence whatsoever and seem to attack newer players. I haven't met a single teammate or opponent who has helped me in any way to learn the game or get better at it.

A fresh level 30 has no business in ranked, sorry. You have a hard time in normals, but you believe that ladder is going to be better? Many games get ruined from new players, due to no real barriers to ranked. It's pretty much the most common form of non-reportable griefing in ranked you can do. You can't simply pick a champion that's easy that you pick up kills with or believe that's OP and expect the game to win itself while your teammates pat you on the back for doing so great without putting any effort into your own skills.

If you really, really want to be a ranked player... step up your game for about x 20.

Just report the people who excessively flame you out in normals.

The problem with helping people is the constant stream of players that believe they are good, getting defensive over it. No one really is going to bother to help you, because there's always someone crying toxicity over something that might actually be useful. Even then post game commentary is not really that useful since most of the time its misinformation or overclaimed knowledge most of the time.

There's YT videos, online guides, and other content that you can consume to get better which is more accurate. Might also ask people about their main if you happen to meet people that play a champion you like. Also keep in mind old guides, YT videos that are troll, and generally top lists might be inaccurate.

TLDR: Don't ranked-newbie it. Watch YT / Read Guides. Lux isn't a support. Find out what roles you want and study.

Boards are equally toxic as ingame, they just pretend to be good people but are all equally morons

Sorry for the terrible experience, and I'd like to say that the community as a whole isn't toxic, but I don't want to sugarcoat it for you.

A good portion of this community is toxic, with a high portion of it being the Ranked part of this community. My advice? Mute them, play with friends, or play one of the more "fun" gametypes. The League community isn't "newbie" friendly at all, and your best bet to improve is to practice with friends rather than others.

Though, if you do manage to find a few diamonds in the rough, be sure to become friends with them, and learn from them. There are nice people in this game, though you have to actively go out and search for them if you want to find them.

Use "I know you are but what am I?" or "I am rubber and you are glue."

Go play some Counter-Strike. Then come back and bask in the glory of a good community.

To Be honest The Community is filled with Trolls A LOT OF TROLLS not Counting How many people who are Generally Toxic. Good explanation is how one of the most toxic people in League of legends, Tyler1 Got Popular so quick its because people can relate to him because those people themselves are toxic. Also another flaw in this game is the fact that these toxic Trolls go on to troll continuously do to the fact that riot doesn't do anything about it. Imo Do what ever you want just mute chat all the time your not going to meet anyone on league that has a Civil mind that in itself is like finding a Needle in a hay stack. You will run into people with EGO problems, Stoners, the classic rager who thinks he deserves a higher elo but makes the same mistakes every time and never learns, The shit Talker , Boosters, Scripters, and people like you if you want to get better at the game play normals for a while until you find two champions in two different lanes that you can do well with. you can play ranked since its normally better to play ranked to learn after you already practiced a few games in normal. Most normal games are people just playing to troll or who are banned from ranked games. when people start flaming mute them just drop the mute, mute your team only communication you need is pings. since people are easily triggered

he's not a smurf. hes just silver 3. they start you in mid silver on new accounts for some reason. so new players get stomped pretty hard.

You'll eventually get better, but the most advice I could give you is add those who seem nice after you interact with them and hope they accept.

I would say play with me but according to some people I too, am toxic.

I'd play with ya and help you with the basics but I play late as hell, like 1am to 5am (I work nights)

I love how people call others "toxic" which equivalent of calling them "cancer" and that some how is not the offensive part?

I swear "toxic" lyte infected too many people who can not think for themselves.

It helps to mute them so you can pretend like they like you even if they're cussing their brains out ;)
