How come I get banned when my support griefs me?

Just had someone roll support, decide he did not want to do it. Went Illa, stood behind me and stole CS whenever he could. Continued griefing, ended up 2-14

The outcome of this? I get muted for 25 games because I would not sit there quietly and take the abuse.

How is this even close to fair?

Its fair because 2 wrongs dont make a right. Sure, i feel you though because he intentionally trolled you, but by even responding to him you 1)flamed which is against the rules and 2) fed the troll, which encouraged him to do more.

A mute is not a ban, it's a lesser form of punishment, and is likely a result of your chat behavior towards them. It doesn't matter what someone else says or does. Your punishment is based on what you said or did.

Chat restriction or ban? In any case, I'm not asking for chat logs. I can already guess what it'll contain.

So, what you're saying is, you got a 25-game Chat Restriction because you flamed someone.

It doesn't matter if they griefed/trolled/whatever, you're not allowed to flame. Flaming only makes the situation worse for everyone - including the teammates who now have to deal with a troll and a flamer.

Next time someone trolls you, figure out how to play around them, and report them post-game. Don't flame them.

you flame = you get punished.
