IN COMPETITIVE GAMES shit talking should be ALLOWED. if you're trying to compare league of legends to sports then u should know that in ANY pro sport there is a BUNCH of shit talking so your argument is invalid. i could name a bunch of hall of famers that were known for their shit talking and the fans loved it and the players would even get in on the shit talking. it just comes with the territory. shit talking makes the game more fun because now both teams got something to prove. this whole mentality of reporting because a player said "ez" is pathetic, just get gud

Are you a professional player? No, you're not. Even if you were, you have to adhere to the rules that the sport sets for it's players and if you should fail to follow those guidelines there are penalties.

You mentioned pro sports: In the NFL you're not allowed to stand over your opponent and taunt them after you hit them/tackeled them. If you do you will receive a 'personal foul' for 'unsportsmanlike conduct' and cost your team 15 yards. Same thing applies for excessive celebration following a touchdown. In League, you're allowed some back and forth banter, but the moment someone tells you to stop, then you need to stop, that's how Riot has defined the rules. You don't have to like it, but you should follow it---if you don't then you need to prepare for the consequences.

Fun for who? You? Perhaps, but maybe someone else doesn't view it that way.

There are other people besides yourself that play this game. Some people are just working guys in their 20s or 30s that came home from a long day and just want to play some League, they do so to relax as it is a video game after all. After putting in 9 hours at a job the last thing some people might want to see is some teenager that lives with his parents talking trash during their leisure time activity.

Personally, I don't care, but I'm a reasonable enough human being to know that some people do care---if someone talks a little trash to me, I might give it back to them, I might say absolutely nothing which actually tilts people even more at times. However, there are boundaries and you need to be respectful of those, that's all anyone asks.

Can you please educate yourself about rules in sports? If ref catches player flaming, insulting,swearing, disrespecting, verbally abusing others, they will get removed from game.

Shit talking is entertaining when their is a big crowd and a popular rivalry between the famous players that is fed by the insults.

Shit talking is not entertaining when your sitting on your computer behind a summoner name telling strangers to kill themselves and that they are worthless.

Didn't exactly disagree with your post until then (and I don't even get mad someone says gg ez). Literally, the only athletes that would say "ez" after a game are the bench riders. Everyone else is "gg" and save the shit talking for during/in between games. So get yo JV ass outta here with that.

Also, there is no rule whatsoever against shit talking in this game. I literally do it every single game. The thing not allowed in this game is harassing teammates or using hate speech. Neither of which are tolerated athletic sports either. So your comparisons fail there as well.

As a side though, don't use the word "cringe". It literally makes you look like you live in your mom's basement and have a neckbeard and probably playing champions like Riven and Vayne.

There's a huge difference between someone saying "Nice ult" in /all chat when the enemy team misses an ult, or saying "4 champions for one support? Bring more next time," and harassing the enemy team.

There are ways to razz the enemy team in a way that is humorous or can be perceived as a part of competitive play, and then there is pointless griefing and harassment. Calling out the community for being soft for not being able to handle harassment does not make a good case for the point you are trying to get across.

Professional sports is a poor example because they all have rules prohibiting this sort of behavior. Even hockey, which is pretty much the only non-fighting sport where you don't automatically get ejected from the game for fighting.

Don't try discussing issues with Riot, they'll ban you! It's also unreasonable to try to discuss logical issues with employees who have an IQ barely large enough to maintain breath. All you can do is laugh at them and their cringe-inducing attempt at removing ills from society by pretending they are all morally superior. Best thing you can do is leave the game like me :) Even though they never got a cent of my money, it's still funny to think about people who do pay these odd people for producing pornographic skins then banning accounts who say "get rekt garbo". Poorly run company with an even poorer attempt at being the police of a non-police-able issue. Leave the game and let them ban each other until the game dies :)
