Ranked 4v5s and 3v5s
Any earthly idea why games still count as losses when a team has three or four players because of afks? This happens frequently.

So the way I understand it is if you play a large number of game the amount of games you play with an afk on your team will be about the same number of games you play where the other team has an afk. Essentially if they just gave you loss prevent for afks then one person could go afk to save the other 4 from the loss. I was upset about it when I first started playing ranked and I am not saying its ideal but over the course of many many games you tend to break even on afks.
