The most unjustified ban of all time

Background: I'm playing Tristana bot lane; my "support" picks Teemo. Game starts and we arrive in bot lane. The two enemy laners are sitting in the brush just inside the entrance to the river; my "support" walks into them and tries to fight them. I don't go to help him because I assumed he would run away after realizing he can't fight two people at level 1 by himself, but he doesn't and dies. Immediately after this, he starts spamming question mark pings on me, which I promptly muted, then he types something along the lines of: "Trist is trolling." I ignore this as I don't consider him suiciding to two people and me not helping him as trolling and I try to play the game. My "support" comes back to lane and walks at the enemies autoing them and running into their abilities, obviously dying. He does this for a some time, all the while claiming that I'm trolling him. This infuriates me, as he keeps saying statements like: "It's a shame this Trist is trolling, we could have won this game."

Any response in my chat log that is deemed 'toxic" by anyone was directed at these statements. He also asked everyone to report me for trolling at least one time in game, and at least another in the post game lobby.

He ended the game 3 and 17, and my mid laner ended 3 and 10, but I'm the one reported and banned after ONE game of having the worst kind of player anyone could imagine playing with. The fact that this guy is allowed to keep playing, but I get banned for getting pissed off at him for ruining the game is utter bullshit. I'm not accepting this ban; how can someone not get pissed off at this?

So first what you want to hear: trolling and/or intentionally feeding is not acceptable, and should be punished. I'm not defending your teammates actions here in any way.

THAT SAID, there are ways it's okay to express anger and ways it is not okay. Once your chat stoops to the level of harassment, abuse, or insults, you have crossed a line and opened yourself up to deserved punishment. Nothing is gained by calling him trash, or a moron, or an amateur, or a loser. Nothing is gained by spending then entire chat ranting about him. All that is is harassment, and all that means is that there are now TWO toxic players everyone else has to put up with.

Ritos system isn't an eye for an eye. you chose to be toxic and that's what you're being punished for. And if you got a ban its because you have a history of the behavior and have been punished before.

And what justificatiion did you used to bitch all game and create a negative gaming experience for your other 3 teammates?

You dont get perna banned just for this one game. You must have a history of toxicity in other games as well as previous punishment record you conviencely "forget" or left out of your narration.

Probably the parts where you said: "fuck you Teemo, you're a fucking loser, the whole I'm glad I got THIS TEAM THIS ONE THIS TEAM part, go fuck yourself, you're a fucking moron, moron, you fucking amateur."

So a couple things here, first off, WHATEVER the other players might do. none of that justifies these kind of responses, now I could honestly stop there, but I won't. See if he's being a feeding ass, just report him and move on, sure it feels crappy, but that's part of why it's there, also if he's gonna blame you and junk and it's not your fault just mute him. Lastly, you say you got banned, by this I'm assuming you mean permabanned which if so this incident with Teemo is not the first and you've probably showed a habit of responding like this, which if you haven't fixed then that's on you. But who know's maybe this is your first ban of any kind, in which case it's temporary and you can do better next time.

After reading through the comments, you do not seem to understand.

  1. You got permabanned = You got sanctioned before = you were toxic in previous game. NOW, you do not improve your behaviour so you get permabanned, seems logical to me.

  2. You are justifying your behaviour because the Teemo was feeding, asking other players to report you and saying you were the one trolling. I agree with you he is lying and his behaviour is bad. But it does not, in any way, gives you an excuse to flame. Nothing that happen during a game gives you the right to flame. You flame = you get sanctioned

Next time just mute and move on. It can feel very annoying to lose a game like this, it's true, but deal with it, it happens to everyone.

Riot need to focus on Trolls/Feeders/Afkers. They are the root cause of verbal toxicity. Think about it. What do trolls feed off of? They feed off of player's reactions. And that reaction is noticeable through chat. Once a legitimate player displays frustration through chat, the troll has complete power over the player. Trolls play the victim card, and get away scot-free while legitimate players get punished.

Even though players have complete control over muting, trolls wont use the mute option. They wont use it because they feed off of the frustrations of other players and reports them the moment they see verbal toxicity. And how does the legitimate player fight back? The player will often report the troll. However, with Riot's lenient punishment system, the system most likely thinks the troll is, "just having a bad game."

Once Riot mitigates the root cause, League's community and the game will be at a healthier state, believe me.

Remember, you're punished for what you do and say.

You could have chosen to respond to this alleged inting and trolling in a more constructive way. However, you chose to go on for multiple lines of chat with flaming him. That's what you're punished for. Your choice in how to respond.

Just because they do something wrong, doesn't mean you have to go do something wrong back to them.
