Banned??!! - An open letter to Riot - (not a salty rant)

A letter to riot games:

Dear Riot,

Today I log into league to see if any of my friends are online, and wow what do we have here!

Your account has been permanently suspended. Sincerely, summoner 14 ritosummoner 14

To be honest with you rito, the last time I was banned for anything was leaving way too many games. A month into starting to play league, I didn't know that frequently leaving normals because there is a more urgent issue at the moment was a ban-able offense. That was about two years ago. Since then I've only left one game and it did not lead to any consequences. To shed some light on the situation, my account was hacked about a week ago(which I informed riot about immediately). I was logged out for about 30 mins, in which the hacker spammed the friend I was duo queuing with and made me wait about 25 mins to play for leaving multiple queues. When I logged in everything was fine except for that, as I said I emailed rito and they sure took their sweet time (about 4 days total to actually reply with another information request in an obvious filler paragraph). Unfortunately for me, the hacker had set the email address to their own, so I couldn't reset my password. So as I said, I try to log in today and find that the account that I've spent a ton of money on and wasted about 2.5 years on has been permanently banned?? Seriously... Please up vote to make rito see the error in its ways and help me get my account back! And not just me, but other league players who were unfairly banned! By garnering enough support for this thread we can make riot pay attention to the people who play their game!

Thanks friendly league community, GT Mochachino

TERMS OF USE AGREEMENT... IV. OWNERSHIP ... B. Game Assets, Riot Points and Virtual Items. ... You acknowledge and agree that such Game Assets are accumulated as part of your Account and therefore you shall have no ownership or other property interest in any of those Game Assets. ... If you have a valid, active Account, you may participate in our Riot Points service offering, which is a redeemable point system that operates like virtual currency (“Riot Points”) used to license certain Game Assets that can be used while playing the Game, including, without limitation, special champions, champion “skins,” and boosts (“Virtual Items”). ... YOU FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT THE RIOT POINTS SYSTEM AND THE VIRTUAL ITEMS YOU ACQUIRE HAVE NO MONETARY VALUE AND CANNOT BE REDEEMED FOR CASH. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE ...

Direct your attention to this line:

... is a redeemable point system that operates like virtual currency (“Riot Points”) used to license certain Game Assets ...

You are paying a one time fee to license game assets. This means the business model is you gaining access to game elements that Riot retains ownership of.

As with basically all things license, permission/ access is well within the rights of the owner to revoke.

You don't get a refund for the money you paid to get your drivers license, when it gets revoked for breaking the rules.

Really says a lot about the crap league community with these comments... Says he was hacked, is that his fault? No unless it's a super easy password. Is it his fault that riot won't even help change the account info? Well obviously not... I think I speak for everyone who has experienced the ridiculous wait time for getting a support ticket answered. His account was permanently banned before riot could even help change the login info because of their "lightning fast" support system. Honestly, anyone who down votes people who need help is a crappy person and is probably a salty troll who needs to rage at something after their losing streak. If they don't unban this seemingly innocent person I don't even know what to think...

Why did riot say they banned you?

You'll need to file a support ticket and hope they can help, but your account security is your responsibility so they may or may not overturn the ban.
