Permabanned for defending myself without insults ??

Like come on Riot... I'm not the kind of guy to let myself get flamed. I always answer. I just got out of a 14 days ban for calling a guy who managed to lose lane vs an afk (yes he did...) a ngger fggot and that he should kill himself. That ban was understandable as i crossed a line. So now i played 5 games and got 4 toxic players in my team. Called them out for being toxic and illogical in their claim (like the guy who says you're shit when he's no way near better). I kept my cool and didn't insult them, just told them that they're toxic and answered their argument.

Here are the chat logs, now remember those guys i was talking to told me to kill myself or wanted to fuck my mother.

If you previously worked up to a 14-day ban, it takes very little afterwards to get perma'd. The ice is very thin there, as others have stated.

Nope. You weren't super insulting, but you pretty clearly continued arguments for a long length of time. That, coupled with you just getting back from a 14 day ban, led to your ban.

You should have just muted the yi and the vayne, but also you need to stop getting into prolonged arguments over how your teammates are playing.

Yes, you were on thin ice. While you were not the most toxic player that I have encountered, you were still toxic and were (judging by your message) adding toxicity or creating environments that were negative for those with whom you were playing.

In the end when you're already behaving like this when you're just off a 14 day ban, it's clear that lessons were not learned and there is a high chance that you were not going to reform. Hence why it is thin ice, and Riot tends to be less lenient with those who climb the Penalty Ladder like it's Ranked.

"Defending yourself", if that is what you were actually doing who knows with 1 side of the chat, is not acceptable. It just spirals toxicity. It has never been nor hopefully never will be a free pass to be toxic in a game. "But mom, he hit me first!" isn't a convincing argument.

It shouldn't be hard to swallow the consequences for your actions if they are well known before hand (which they are very much well known in LoL's case). Not sure why it would be here.

If you're truly getting yourself permanently banned by 'defending yourself', there is a quote that I usually find very very relevant.

I see this all the time. People will trigger other people to "defend themselves", then immediately forget they started it "and defend themselves" in response. They lack the ability to introspect and analyze their influence to their surroundings. People who have the ability to step back and say "Hrm, it seems that my behavior X is part of the problem". I don't see get as many future bans.

I see your point. Sadly, Riot only provides one side of the chat log which is pretty unfair, taking things out of context. If you'd see what the "toxic" guy was saying in the game you'd be on my side (i think :D)

Well prior the 14 days ban i tended to insult when for exemple i get 3 trolls in a row and i cross the line on the third one because i'm tilted from the previous two and have a bad mindset, then there is the "one too much"... Here i just told them that they were toxic... No insults whatsoever

Nope, having a debate is using arguments. "what you said is dumb" has never counted as being an argument.

Report is a personnal act. Also 1 report count as much as 9 report at the end of the game (else premade would be favored).

  1. Nope, you can also mute them, you are not there to argue, your are there to play and try to win. If you want to discuss theorycrafting and decision making you can go on reddit or on these boards.

  2. Nope, when you report someone there is an automatic review of his chatlogs and ingame actions (suiciding under tower, selling everything, staying afk ...). So if you report him the review will be launched. If 9 people report him the review will be launched as well. You see ? No point asking others to report him. The same process is used if there are 1 or 9 reports.

  3. Sometimes i can be upset, but i dont type in chat then. What's the point ? Either the guy is trolling me and will be happy to get me mad, or he is legitimately stupid and telling him how stupid he is will not change anything in my life.

I know it's too late now, but this is exactly the reason I wish people would post before getting to the permaban step; there's nothing to do about it once it gets that far :(

It's not that it's not an offense, it's more like ggez. They aren't going to ban you for it alone, but it is registered as negative and can contribute to your ban.

Read the 2nd sentence properly, what NAKayle means is that it is not a direct 14-day ban offense (like hate speech) but certainly punishable when used in junction as a harassment tool.

I feel that these logs have been tampered with, but neverless, it's worth of a punishment cos you have been insulting them throughout the games.

Since you were on 14-day ban, your next punishment (was clearly told to you in your reform card & email) would be a permaban.

Chat logs are legit like that, can provide screenshots if you want. I didn't insult them, they insulted me and the team 24/7, just called them out.

I know, and i wouldn't think standing up for myself would be banable, also those who reported me got also punished which means they were toxic aswell but far worse "kys", "i hope you die", "i fuck your mom". Seems harsh to me that i'm put on the same level ...

you may think of it as "defending yourself", while you are actually "counter attacking".

I mean, what is there to defend against? Just mute them and you don't see anymore of their chats. Who cares if they call for reports (especially to spite you), cos if you didn't do anything wrong, the system will throw the report(s) away, so what do you really need to defend against? Not like your account was in any danger (until you decided to counter attack).

Eitherway, what's done is done, the account is gone. If you wish to continue learn about the behavioral system, feel free to ask.

Yeah the 14 days ban was fair, tbh. And for the argument thing, i never mute people because if they make calls or things like that i wanna be able to see it, which means i also see what they say 24/7. And i'm the type of guy who can't stay with my mouth shut. And i only answer to criticism towards me or my teammates which is, for me, fine no ?

There is your problem. No, it is not okay to answer the criticism towards you or your teammates the way you did, especially since you already were on very thin ice after the 14 day ban. If you really can't help yourself, either use the mute function or type /note in front of everything so that it appears to you and not to them. Or unbind the chat key itself.

I'll tell you real straight and honest. Unless a player is masters or challenger or in pro play (and even in those cases there are exceptions) whatever he has to say to me falls in one or more of these categories

  1. I already know
  2. It's wrong
  3. I'm not interested

Everything else can be communicated with pings, the only pings league lacks right now are -Push -Freeze -Ward here -It's warded here -Is it warded here?

Besides that the chat is completely utter useless at best and detrimental/irritating at worst.

I saw some report calling and degrading your teammates.

It only takes one report to flag the match for review, and it is unsportsmanlike to get in /all chat and call for reports. Encouraging x9 on teammates was bad behavior, as well as telling teammates that they are bad at their champs.

I have no idea what the Vayne side of the conversation was. But you can understand this is potentially Slander. Many players, having read this, including me BTW, will assume it is slander on your part and will report you on that basis alone.

The vayne was actually in the ennemy team, and telling her team, through /all chat, that they should die, that they sucked, that they were retarded. And then she went on saying i "flamed" her while i was just asking her to chill.

The Ekko was just not playing to win anything, you know like play safe when you're behind, he was basically inting and cost us the game. And for the "How can an Ekko lose to Lux" i was genuinly (how do you spell that ? xD) asking him, expecting an answer from him like "soryy first time", "got camped". Ofc and i understand, out of context it doesn't seem like that ...

But overall, by this post i understand what i did, even though i still think it's harsh comparing to real flame (insults, death threats, etc)
