Give Toxic Players Option to Disable Chat

Two years ago I was permanently suspended within the period of a month on both of my main accounts. I was trying my hardest to climb the ladder and put an immense amount of pressure onto myself to carry. Combined with my unstable personality, this crippled my ability to communicate effectively with my team. I received chat restrictions which caused me to troll when I ran out of messages to flame my team. I received ranked restrictions, which caused me to rage in normals. I received temporary bans which caused me to troll on smurfs. And then I received permanent suspensions, which built resentment towards the game, knowing that all of the time and effort I had put into building my account was for nothing. It was gone, forever, just like that.

I tried so hard to be a positive member of the community, and I continue to try every single day. But when I make mistakes in game, or feel hopeless at my teams ability to perform, I just let loose on the chat. Sometimes I have streaks of unparalleled positivity. Other times, I am extremely toxic and receive punishment for it. To date, I have gotten over 20 accounts permanently suspended, most of them unranked smurfs I purchased online. My in game behavior has improved drastically over the past couple of years. I no longer troll, grief, and annoy people in my games. But I am a rager, and that is something I cannot change.

I am asking for your help, one simple solution that is guaranteed to help me and countless other players who are in the same boat as me. Let me disable my ability to use chat. Let me read what others say, let me use pings to communicate strategy, and let me use internal or external voice chat to communicate. But do not let me use the anonymous in-game chat box to flame my teammates.

I love League, I love the community, I love esports, I love my teammates, but I am a flawed person and I need your help. If not, the cycle of purchasing accounts, refunding them, and getting them banned will continue forever, and that hurts everyone.

I don't look, talk, or act like a cyber-rager in real life. There is simply no way for me to stop raging at my teammates in certain games, and it leads to a vicious cycle of frustration, creating new accounts, and spreading that toxicity to more people.

Dude really as it stand right this minute I don't know why Riot doesn't allow this. I could take a few guesses but for the sake of being civil I won't.

I am honestly hoping someone who know why they don't do this comes on and tells us. I said GL and I meant it friend.

Like Nerak23 said, Pop off your Enter keys, put them across the house so it'd take too much effort to retrieve and unbind any keys that open chat.

You can pop your enter keys right back on when you are done.

I love how there is people saying "just don't type".... like do you think telling a heroin addict to "just don't do drugs" is going to solve the issue? Are you that moronic?

Allowing us to keybind the chat function key, is literally all it would take. And they can't even give us that. They don't care. I'll say it agian.

They want you to keep making accounts and getting perma banned, if they wanted anything else they would have changed something by now, but they won't, they never will.

In addition to tearing out your enter key (if you have a mechanical keyboard this wouldn't be hard to do nor would it hurt your keyboard, here are some other things I suggest.

  1. Talk out loud. Can't get banned if you don't type it in chat.

  2. you can get a half keyboard (http://www.amazon.com/Razer-RZ07-01030100-R3U1-Tartarus-Gaming-Keypad/dp/B00EHBKUTE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1454422506&sr=8-2&keywords=half+keyboard) for example.

  3. You can't unbind the chat key, what you can do is you can make it so when you chat you have to do some crazy combination like Ctrl+F12+J

  4. Make the chat so small it's impossible to read.

  5. stright up /mute all.

Seriously it concerns me so many people have this problem, if you can't control yourself on a game what is going to happen IRL ? Good Luck with this, I'd actually like to understand why Riot doesn't allow it before I comment on this subject in detail.

I guess because something is so simple it passes people's mind. It shouldn't be that difficult to just not type. But who knows? It's why it's hard to believe they don't act like that in real life.

I find it kindof sad that people feel the need to be abusive in this game, or anytime really. I feel for them, but when I get upset in-game I Say it out load and then type a quick polite message asking them to stop. At this point I let it go because I know if I am Toxic to them they will get worse. I never even use mute, however that is a good tool.

It is hard to believe if you can't keep your kool in a Video game to then tell me that they can deal with real life. It worth pointing out yet again, If you say smart-assed things IRL you might get yourself into some trouble. Oh well, what can we do but try. :)
