Wanna get perma-banned after 2 games ? Just follow these easy steps *not clickbait*

Here's the deal : you can be a really nice player , be honorable , almost never flame your teammates etc; doesn't matter. Just say 1 racial slur (be it n* word , f*g or anything else , and game will automatically ban you for 14 days (first one) and perma (second one) after being reported. No jokes.

How do i know that ? Well I experienced that myself ! Now , i understand that banning people who have tendencies to be inflammatory is good and all , but firstly , i would say that i am not such a player . We all have those games when we are stressed by factors outside the game (real life) and if you get into an argument , it can get really heated.

Here's the chatlog : " Game 1 Rukutazumemo: are you seriously tryharding in this mode ? I've had a bad game , said the n* word (not directly to anyone) and got permabanned for "inflammatory behavior" that goes on for 1 game . Yep , 1 game . You won't see any inflammatory behavior in my other , previous games , you won't see me writing stuff like "bg , report x for y , noob , retard " etc . Just this one mistake , and that's all it took for my account to get banned .

I would not argue if i considered myself a person with inflammatory behavior . I would like to issue an apology to anyone who i have offended and IF a support member reads this , i would like them to personally view my other full-game chat logs and conclude if i am a person that should be permabanned . Thanks for reading .

The "kill yourself" is also not helping.

But yes. This behavior is considered entirely unacceptable, and absolutely zero tolerance. It is a 14-day ban at minimum on the first offense, and a permanent ban thereafter.

Riot understands that players get heated -- the system is slightly lenient as a result. But there's a difference between getting a bit heated and resorting to hate speech. I might say "well fuck you!" in a fit of anger, but lashing out with derogatory language is a bit different.

I would like them to personally view my other full-game chat logs and conclude if i am a person that should be permabanned . Thanks for reading.

I'm very confident, from my conversations with support members, that they take hate speech and encouragements to self-harm VERY seriously. If you did NOT receive a 14-day ban on the account previously it might be worth sending a ticket to Player Support as often this behavior only receives a 14-day ban. If you did already receive a 14-day ban, however, I'm 100% certain that you are, sadly, out of luck.

It never "just" meant stupid. The entire reason it had that meaning at all was because people were equating homosexuality with stupidity. The etymology of the slang usage is fairly well documented.

The only thing that's happened in the past decade is a more wide-spread agreement that it's not okay. Your opinion may vary.

Note, also, that the original poster didn't say "gay," as that's not censored by the boards. He used another term that is FAR more offensive.

Most people that are in full rage mode do not say gay. They say the other word for gay that is a lot more offensive, as you've stated. I've NEVER seen a case where someone was banned for saying "That's gay." EVER.

Fair enough, the word he used was much worse. But still I'm not saying it was acceptable or should have been acceptable, just saying I remember in middle school when you could say that and it was completely fine.

Why do you think 'white people' get offended when you say "That's such a white thing to do?" whem they do something wrong? Why do you think 'black people' get offended when you adjoin their race with every single person being a criminal?

Because that one word encompasses everyone in that demographic.

Lol, are you joking? Incase you didn't know words have this amazing ability to have multiple meanings. Using a word doesn't "correlate" it with the other meaning of the word. If that was the case using your logic since gay means lighthearted and carefree it should have been "correlated" with homosexuality, right? Huh? As I've said before, it's one thing to call SOMETHING gay, than SOMEONE gay. No, I'm not saying one thing is better than the other, both are bad, but you aren't exactly directly insulting people the former way.

Of course, sexuality has 0 to do with the game at hand, or in any game for that matter, it's still a bad idea to use it regardless of the setting, so it's best to get it out of the "words to use while online gaming" category.

For Riot's purposes, they're just trying to keep ya'll fighting over that shit instead of playing to a minimum. It isn't their job to be moral police of language usage. And let's face it, there's no one more willing and motivated to climb up your Customer Support than an offended person on a crusade. So, they got a list of words, and they dgaf about the context because we could bicker all day.

Outside of the game: The "bad" is relative. Just because someone taught you to feel negatively towards its use at all doesn't mean it's "wrong". If someone uses it in the context that doesn't denote anything about sexuality, but you're still reminded of that meaning and emotionally react to it, thats YOUR fault. Why? because context. If Lil Wayne says "%%%%%" 2500 times today you gonna say the same thing about its usage? No because he's black? Yes its wrong either way? GL convincing every person using it like "dude" to see your point of view and take that much offense from it.e What about homosexuals and gay? Is there an "ok" in there for them as well? Or is it the same to you? But wasn't gay "Happy" before? Who was the authority that changed it? Pretty sure its all perspective and context. Pretty sure it differs group to group, person to person.

Yeah well, we also used to have segregation, marginalized the disabled, minorities and women... guess what? Words evolve, societies evolve. What is acceptable at one point, isn't anymore. My grandmother still refers to Asians as "Orientals" and black people as "coloreds", not because she's racist, but because she is 95 years old and that was the language used at the time.

Even the word "F_ggot" was pretty mainstream in the culture during the 70s and 80s---it was in movies, music and TV shows pretty regularly thrown around and was (usually) intended to shame someone for acting in a manner that is commonly associated with being a homosexual male. You definitely didn't want to be a homosexual male in the 80s---with AIDS being the big story of the decade, virtually always on the evening news and commonly associated with the "gay lifestyle", it was probably not a good time for that group.

But you see, words and times change.

I was bringing up a point about language and how it changes, which had nothing to do with where you're using it. And as for your comment?

I don't think so. I've reported people in Aram all the time that toss out racial slurs death threats/ect because they think the game mode isn't serious. They don't get punished, at least not by my reports. I'm not sure but when someone uses the correct spelling of the n and f-t word, it should auto ban them. But it doesn't. Not all the time.

Bear in mind that it's likely that MANY people reported them, and the alert only goes out to one person.

I also don't know the specifics of how the system functions as far as identification goes -- just that Riot bans this stuff aggressively when the system does find it.

Summoner's Code says it nicely.

If you end up in a game with an abusive player, don't lower yourself to their level. Instead, politely ask them to calm down. And remember, even if you’re having a bad game, quitting or going AFK just ruins the game for the rest of the players. If someone's really starting to bother you, the mute and ignore commands are always there to resolve the situation.

If you feel someone pisses you off and they aren't intending on stopping, mute, and report.

Making yourself the bad guy against the bad guy is fighting fire with a full jerry can in hand.

I just don't get why being stressed and getting an argument leads to throwing around "the n word" lol... like you say "we all have those moments" or whatever, but I'm sitting here like no... no we don't. I've never had a moment where I was so stressed I just had to call someone a n**r. Lmao. And I don't even care when people are racist, it's whatever, racism is kind of natural, but I don't say it because i have no reason to. Why the n word? Is that your go to insult? How old are you? Is it normal in your generation? Is it a hip hop thing? Do you say it like a tough guy, or like a basement dweller who only says it online to be edgy and sound like you "just dgaf"? Problem is the n- word generally is always being told to a person, not just as-is. Same thing with f-g. You don't see someone saying "Cho builds like a n-", or "Ashe has some f-g ult stun".

Gay is another thing because it can be used against someone, and against a situation, since it's an adjective AND a pejorative, but used more (as far as I've personally experienced) to describe things. Like "Omg, that damage is so f---ing gay". This is why people don't get reported out of just saying gay, but instead in what context they use it.

The point being is, it's very very hard to not curse or something, but there's times and places for everything, if you want to tell your friends those words, go for it, they might be accepting of it and in fact play around with it, but many others don't. Keep that in mind.

I would bet a steak dinner that you have been toxic in other games on your account---maybe not to the degree of this one, but I'd wager that this is not the very first time you have ever popped off. In all the time I've been on the Boards/forums I've never seen a case where someone just decided one day to be toxic for ONE game and get banned. You would be the very first case if that happened and I'm guessing that you're not the exception to the rule.
