My Gold experience

hi. for the last couple months i had been grinding my butt off to get to plat as a sort of milestone. and for the last 2 weeks straight, i have been tilted off the face of the earth by people who leave, rage, feed, and anything else someone could do to not win a game. for some reason, i try to take this game seriously because i like co-ordination and winning because my team was smarter or more cooperative makes me feel good. And because i take this game seriously i think negative behavior affects me HARD when i play. i usually try to take a break if i go on a losing streak or if im not feeling up to playing through but even that has started to show less positive results.

this is mostly a selfish rant and im probably going to keep playing this game for some reason. this is going to make me feel better since im getting my feelings out in the open and im interested to see if anyone else feels the same or has had a similar experience and i would like to know how you got over it or if youre still struggling with this so i can try to help.

Adopt the following motto : People are idiots.

Once you have done this, suddenly no amount of idiocy will surprise you or get to you, it is simply what you should expect of people, they are idiots.

Further, this philosophy allows you to truly appreciate when people come along who are not idiots. I find that taking pleasure in great teammates is easier once you recognize that the majority of people are idiots. As such it becomes a lot easier to compliment people who are just "nice people".

I feel you. I got to Plat V promos, 2/2 with only one game left to decide if I made my goal or not. One bad teamfight in that final game led to a wave of negative behavior that ultimately lost us the game. Since then I feel as though my games have been riddled with this defeatist attitude, one fight goes wrong and everyone tilts at least 90 degrees. I won't be able to make Plat this year, but I'm okay with that. I'll just practice on the PBE until the new season starts and I get to start fresh.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience, but just know that you're not alone mate. End of season is stressful for everyone, here's hoping next season is better. :)
