That can happen, yes. There is not an acceptable amount of hate speech (any amount is unacceptable), and, while it sometimes only earns a 14-day ban, it can be escalated to an immediate permanent ban. In this case the fact that the rest of the log is almost entirely abusive towards the teammates probably pushed this one over the edge.

Each player is fully responsible for his or her own chat and his or her own past behavior. If those other players were reported, the system will look at their chat and their past behavior as well, and judge them accordingly.

If a player is not reported, the system assumes that players were okay with the behavior. It's a system that learns based on what players do and don't report.

Your words used are your own. Regardless what others say, you are responsible for everything you do. Even in grade school "He was doing it too" or "He hit me first" is not a valid defense. Likewise, it is not a valid defense here, either.

Riot is a company which wants to keep a big part of their customers, if someone is threatening them in any way they will get rid of this person like every other company.

This is me saying it warrants a punishment, and a permaban if he's had a 2 week punishment before. Whether or not either of us thinks he deserves a permaban is irrelevant. What matters is whether he's had any recent punishments, and his match history indicates that he may have had a 2-week ban before.

Not really. You cant go more toxic than hate speech. Thats most toxic and worst thing you can do. There are only 2 chat related offenses in this game that can get you instant perma banned: Hate speech and Death threats(Threats not wishes)

Quantity doesnt really matter when it comes to hate speech. Its better to say "your mom is a prostitute" 100 times than to use hate speech once.

I'm pretty sure you had a bad behavioral history. So don't go saying you were never punished before.

Other people will be punished based on their behavioral history. That's the thing you don't know, but they will be punished.

Even if they did get punished, it's not like you'll know about it, cos the system only gives you a notification only if the report was the one that punished the other person. If they played another game, you'll never know.

Hate speech is very severe and can cause a skip / escalation in punishment tiers.

For him to be escalated into permaban, he must have had other punishments.

Well, now the cat is out of the bag and we know that he's had a previous history. So this permaban is deserved.

I don't think ppl still understand that perma banning wont solve anything XD you know how easy is to make other acc and climb so fast?and to hack riot's client so you can int (dancing nunu mid) and still doesn't get banned by system :) only solution for toxic ppl is like if they got chat restriction 1 time or 14 days ban is to turn off their ingame chat forever xd that way they wont be able to flame.

Even if they are permaban muted, they can still see other's chat. They can still see other's bad plays, they'll still get triggered then run it down mid as a griefing tool.

Are you misunderstanding something about the "permamute" feature?

The %%% word triggered the harsh punishment, unless you already got chat restricted and banned for 14 days, then you had enough opportunities to change your behaviour anyway.
