How do I dispute a temp ban

Title. I know which match I was banned for. Someone was flaming me and my friends and was being a dick the whole game. He reported me and I got temp banned for 14 days. I want to dispute this.

You didn't get banned for what he did. You got banned for what you did.

I understand that. Him and I had a banter back and forth sure. But I don't believe I was being toxic. More defending myself and what I was doing. He was flaming the whole team.

I see that a lot, people thinking "oh I'm just defending myself so it's ok." It's not. Don't bother. Regardless if you are defending yourself or not, you're still contributing to a negative environment. Just mute them and move on.

Problem is that "defending yourself" doesn't help. The most effective method to get them to stop, or at least to not escalate the situation further, is to say absolutely nothing.

I understand this, BUT I was queued with 3 others. so it was literally just him and my group of friends. So how does him reporting ME get ME banned? When he was the one flaming the whole game.

How many reports you got doesn't really matter. What matters is the contents of your chat.

If you really want to make a claim of innocence you should really include your chat logs. Saying you were defending yourself doesn't really tell us much about what happened. I have seen people's "self defense" include hate speech and death threats.

You don't have to prove anything to us. If you think you the punishment was a mistake you can submit a support ticket to get a response from riot. That will likely take a couple days and if you post your chat logs we can probably save everyone some time. Mistakes do happen, but they are rare. And based on your responses here it doesn't really seem like it is a mistake, but rather you disagree with what should be punishable.

Well, you can believe what you like. But I wasn't being toxic. I was literally just talking to the guy defending why I was doing what I was doing and he was just being disrespectful and rude the whole time. But like I said, don't have to prove it to you. Submitted a ticket.

If you were flaming him back, then that can get you banned. Just because you don't think you were being toxic doesn't mean that you weren't. If you want, you can post your chat logs here and we can tell you what may have lead to your ban.

Also, as a side note, even if you only received a single game of chat logs, that doesn't mean that it was the only game that lead to your punishment. The system is designed to only send you 1-3 of the more recent games, not an extensive list of everything that contributed to it.

Cos that's not how the system works.

1 vote is more than enough to flag the system to check for toxicity, and if there is any, it will build towards your punishment.

If you want to talk with Riot directly about your ban, then you will need to submit a support ticket. It may take awhile to get a response, so you will need to be patient.

As far as your ban goes, though, what others are doing doesn't matter as you are not punished for their behavior, only your own. If someone else is flaming you first, that does not mean you can start flaming them back. Doing so is punishable as it only adds to the negativity.

you don't even know what happened you are just lumping me in with the rest of everyone else that has ever been banned. I've played this game since the beginning of season one and have never been banned. Why would I start being toxic now?

There is no other way to be banned for 14 days other than behavioral or in-game playstyle (int feeding/etc). Game hacks/modifications/third party programs/etcetera are instant permanent bans.

You can try to dispute your ban all you want but it won't matter as bans for behavioral issues are never overturned (aside from mistakes on Riot's part which are few and far between). From Ulanopo's Knowledge Base:

This forum is NOT for appeals. It is an opportunity for volunteers to explain why you were punished and give advice as to how you can avoid further bans.

Keep in mind that we dont have the power to remove your ban. Only Riot has that ability.

All a report does is flag a game for review. If nothing punishment-worthy is found during the review, the report will be discarded and won't have any effect on your account.

The best solution would have been for you and your friends to mute them, play the game normally and report them after the game.
