the reports are only taken seriously when atleast 2 or more people report. regaurdless if you are right or wrong, the bans work in favour of how many ppl reported said person. pretty simple huh? so gang up wit ur mates and report everyone!!!

I'm happy to shed some light on this.
It only takes 1 report for a game to be reviewed. Punishments (for verbal types) are based entirely on the contents of YOUR chat.
Getting reports beyond 1 does not increase the chance or speed of a game being reviewed. So, the next time you encounter that player spewing off hate speech, just mute them and report them after. There is no reason to ask other players to report them.
While many reports in a single match increase the chance of the system reviewing their case, premade groups only have the weight of a single report no matter how many of them do it. It only takes one report to flag a match for review, so if they continue their negative behavior and are consistently reported even by just one solo player, they'll get reviewed and all the matches will count just the same.
If you were punished, feel free to post the chat logs if you'd like to discuss it with the community. If you think your ban was an error, then you can contest it by submitting a Support Ticket.
Sorry but that's not how it works. One report is as good as nine reports, and multiple reports won't get someone punished any faster than one report would, especially if the reports in question are false. If you get punished then it's because you were consistently showing poor behavior across multiple games and refused to stop.
I had the same issues with the reporting system. So I reported a player but then I still lost LP in the process of playing ranked game because some players have decided to troll. Is there any mechanics or systems that can refund the LP that I have lost or "Lost prevention"? Hope rioters could help me out with my frustration.
