"Skin Viewer", a bannable software ?

Hello,

I recently heard of Skin Viewer, a software allowing the player to view the riot skin in the game and play with it. Only the player having this software can see the skins. I wanted to know if this software was "legal" or if I could be banned for using it.

Thank you for your reply and sorry for my bad English.

The rule of thumb is that programs that let you use custom skins are fine, so long as they don't have features that do other things that are against the rules (even optionally). In the past there have been some custom skin programs that had options for things like enemy summoner spell cooldown trackers, and those would get you banned.

It's not a guarantee, but it can get you banned. In all honesty, I would just avoid all 3rd party softwares all together since you run the risk of getting your account banned by installing them if they modify your client with or without you knowing.

It's not instant, and may not even happen, but by installing it you increase your chances of it happening. Not really worth it imo.

This thread might help clear up any questions you might have regarding 3rd party use: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/5dmkJinG-3rd-party-applicationsmodifications-whats-allowed-and-what-isnt

yes, this will warrant a ban. if its giving access to riot's property (the skins) it's definitely against the tos

Buying the skin from Riot makes it viewable to you and to everyone else. This is only for you. Riot has made no distinction between skin programs that make Singed look like Snow Day Singed or ones that make him look like a coke machine.

Riot has made a clear distinction in that if you access content you have not paid for, you will be terminated. There is no gray area with that terminology. If you use a program that allows you to play a skin you have not paid for, you are in violation of this.

Got a link for that distinction, because the closest I can find basically says "Use them at your own risk, we didn't optimize them so they might make your game experience worse."

"use at own risk" category, I suppose.

If you truly value your account, just dont use any third party software.

I've seen many people get a ban from using skinhacking services on here.

Sometimes you get away with it, sometimes Riot bans you for stealing their skins. I wouldn't play with it.
