Do i deserve a 14-day Suspension for this what are your thoughts?

I have been playing non-stop for around 1-2months and just hit level 30, I was ready to play ranked for the first time on the weekend when this happened.

I personally don't think i deserve a 14 day suspension first offence for this, But I would like to hear others opinions.

this is normal's, but our Zed was first mid and then fizz locked in and his pre-made flamed our Zed. Zed was forced to play top with me. In lobby chat they spammed enjoy support enjoy support after insta locking.

My repercussions for trying to gatekeep lead to my own demise. Why couldn't i have received a chat restriction? Seems harsh tbh.

I think I see you continually retaliating against people who are flaming you. But regardless of the reason, its your chat that got you punished.

You claim that you "dont allow toxicity to spread", yet you let it be spread onto you like butter on bread.

Your communication is almost all negative, and you type more than I've seen some people type in 10+ games. Very little of your chat is actually helpful to winning the game. That's your problem, most of your chat is spent flaming others instead of strategizing to win the game.

You call for reports frequently which is harassment. It's unnecessary. If someone does something reportable, the game will get reviewed even if only you report them. 1 report = 9 reports. Thus, telling people to report someone over and over (or even once) is unnecessary.

Within your toxic communication, there's a lot of vulgarity, and a lot of seemingly admitting that you're trolling them because you think they stole your lane. While the occasional vulgar comment won't get you banned, continually being vulgar will. Further, your admission that you're trolling (even if it was untrue/a joke) could have escalated your ban.

While I would not normally see this as an escalated ban to a 14 day on the first offense, Riot may have done so because of the extreme vulgarity, the admission of trolling/not helping, or the sheer amount of negativity you continued to perpetuate throughout this entire game. This assumes you did not edit the chat logs and this was the only game presented to you.

After reading this, you are mostly right, but it is very frustrating to try and win when a duoQ continously taunts you. I did give in and end up sitting there typing but I didn't actually troll I swapped to support poppy, and mostly assisted them (even while we flamed eachother) until our base was pushed in, thats when I replied the most because the game was already lost we were just emoting at eachother (the enemy and I) at that point because the minions were destroying Inhibs.

When they start taunting you, just type "/mute @champname". It's super easy. Don't type your anger, type your mute. Then report them after the game, and feel better knowing they'll be punished, maybe not immediately but eventually they will.

More than likely, your next chat related offense will result in a permaban. However, that doesn't necessarily mean one bad game once a month or so will, as long as you are well behaved in the vast majority of your games, you're allowed to have a bad game once in a while.

Just don't have a bad game like that again.. overly vulgar and overwhelmingly negative while sending more messages than a teenager does texts in a day. If that makes sense.

This really puts me on edge, is there anyway to drop like a punishment tier or something.

If i ever have a vulgar game in say 6 months does that 2 week ban still apply forcing a perma on me ?

Generally speaking you drop a punishment tier about every 2-4 months of active playing. You can't just play one game a week and drop in that time, nor can you play 10 games a day and drop in a week.

The better thing is to just not have another vulgar game?

Also don't let them bully you into doing what they want. Even if it's a 4 man premade. If the dynamic que puts you in a role, then play that role, if you have pick order, then exercise it. If someone goes to that lane, then just be like YAY 2 MAN LANE HERE! And be positive about it in chat and what not.

Even if they all report you, so long as you try and stay positive in chat, and just do your best, you won't get in trouble.

I did stick to my lane, and play support poppy we actually got first blood and kept a lot of jungle pressure top, but due to our malphite refusing to gank and fizz and jinx flaming us (+ losing their lane) eventually me and the zed just tilted and struggled to keep up in lane.

The reason i'm so frustrated about the ban is because I'm new to the game, and leveling up there have constantly been duoQ's and smurfs bullying their way into lane and despite me being positive most games, the one time I respond I get shut down for 2 weeks.

I really feel like uninstalling but I was really excited to play ranked so I am yet to decide. Thanks for the advice i'll try to keep that in mind if I'm still playing in 2 weeks.

You'll meet a lot of toxic people. If they really get to you, the best thing to do is just mute them, and report them after the game. I know it's cliche but that is the best thing to do in those situations.

If you really want to contest your ban you can always send in a support ticket explaining the situation asking that it be overturned or at least lessened. I don't know if it'll work, but I have heard of cases where Riot has "shown mercy" to people in similar situations.

That's dumb. If you haven't been chat restricted before why would it go straight to a suspension? Only cases for that to happen is hate speech. You were just a prick. Should have got a 25 game restrict imo

You took it into your own hands to enact justice upon the person who took mid-lane. If you had simply told them they were wrong to do so and should respect their teammates, that would be one thing.... but you crossed the line into harassment. You harassed them all game long, repeatedly telling them they are bad, making insults about their family, and cussing at them.

You increased the toxicity in your environment, rather than decrease it.

This definitely deserved a 14-Day ban. Next time don't engage a toxic player in chat arguments, just mute them and report after the game.

I feel you there. It's really really difficult to deal with teammates who keep harassing you.

And the problem with self-defense is that it's really easy to cross the line into revenge. It's better to not engage with them at all.

It's not.

You have to beat at least 100 people minimum, and you also have to win at least a 10 v 1. The 10 people in the 10 v 1 can go towards the hundred. Even then that's just the bare minimum and the more hardcore guys still won't give you any respect. To get that you have beat 1000 people.

If my next step is a perma-ban and i decide to play ranked after my suspension, this has just left me scared to communicate. I will probably just /mute all and end up sacrificing communication in favour of being safe.

If i was to receive a chat restriction and a warning it probably would of frightened me enough to stop anyway 14 days just seems harsh :s

So, I'm unsure of what to do because I have spent around £45 on the game and I don't want to get into an altercation and risk losing my account.

I would work on your self control. Maybe have a text editor whenever you want to say something negative, type it in like wordpad or notepad or microsoft word or something. then go at the end of the game and delete it all.

You're welcome to mute all, but I found that with a little bit of control I just mute them when they say anything negative. When I want to be toxic to someone because they're toxic to me, I just say "okay" and then type "/mute @champname" and voila, bliss.

Not entirely sure what you mean by "gatekeeping" here. As I understand it, gatekeeping is when you discover someone is in their promos to another ranked tier and you deliberately throw the game to prevent them from advancing. So i hope that's not what you were doing, because if it is then that's definitely ban worthy.

The rest of your chat is fairly toxic and I'd definitely hand you a 14-day suspension for it.
