Got banned my champ in champ select

I was going to play a normal, chill game on top. I wanted to play Poppy, so I highlighted her in the select. Then the bad stuff started. Our jungler said that Poppy is a trash champ and if I pick her, we will lose so he banned her. I think it is really unsportsmanlike, as stabbing your teammate like that in their back is a thing that should not have a place in team cooperative game like League of Legends.

I personally believe people who willingly ban teammate's pick are just shooting themselves in the foot more often than not.

You're substantially increasing the likelihood that the teammate is going to get even with you by banning your pick or simply picking a champion that they're even worse with.

They tell themselves that they're increasing the likelihood of victory but they're really just lowering it.

People are allowed to ban whatever champ they want. Is it a dick move at times? Yes. Is it necessary at times? Arguably so.

This has been discussed to great length, but ultimately, banning a declared champion is allowed and if you wish to stop that altogether, don't declare your pick.

Banning your teammate's champ will 95% of the times make him throw the game and make you lose just to get even with you. So, no, unless they pick soraka top.

I picked Poppy support the other day with a Caitlyn on our team. Nobody bitched or whined. Ended up going against vayne/thresh and it was magical for our team. Probably more because of the Morde, but I'mma claim it. :p

Easy counter to this behavior is to just not hover your champ until after Ban phase. It sucks because somebody MIGHT ban your preference unknowingly, but it also makes it IMPOSSIBLE for them to do it on purpose.

Honestly, it would be a neat feature though that you just CAN'T ban a champion your team mate has hovered on the Intent phase.

Report them. Or ban their champ next time as well. Works really well.

Since that guy made an action AGAINST his own team, he should be punished.

Too bad Riot doesn't punish anyone nowadays (not even a "k... yourself" guy from a game of some days ago... sad).

Especially if you have the name of the champ in your nickname...

This usually happens when someone is autofilled. It's happens a lot If you queue for Mid, every time I queue for Mid It's always 50/50 Support or Mid, even tho my second role I selected is Top, Support is the one I get. That is one of the reasons why I never select my champion before the ban phase is over, because of assholes like these. And the champion I play in the Mid lane (Talon) barely gets banned, so I don't worry that much about it anyways.

someone did this in a soloqueue ranked game of mine, and then me and the other 4 members of the team proceded to int that game. and then i got a 2 week ban so rip.

When it's normal, and someone does this, then i pick something i can't play with, and vote NO on all surrender. Make sure, that i turn his game into hell. I even made a deal with other team to lengthen the match so he suffers more.
